is there any way to extract the cameos from CnC3 and CnC3:KW or where are thay found?

i have tryed looking threw the big files with xcc for them but i have had no luck in findind them (i have been relying on file names, the 1 or 2 tga's that are shown and photo shop for opening the files i think may be them)

sorry, i mean the sidebar icon (there called cameos in the 2D westwood games)

Im #Newbie to modding or even looking at any 3D game other than generals (and im a n00b at that to)

Oh, icons i dunno how you get them, ill have a look, you have to get the SDK, not xcc or whatever you use for RA1

XCC mixer opens .mix files and generals .big files, imagine finalbig/OS Big editor for anything before C&C 3 (Inc. renegade)

it (or the version im using) can but just not well

so final bigs the other one

OS just ate my ram until the point it (+windows)was using 99% of it

Use JonWil's SDK Extras, binviewer is the program you need but don't forget to have a look at the readme, you must first extract a couple of files.

Ah, golan, is it possible to edit weapon FX, cos thats where i am in a league of my own, does the SDK extra's contain them??

You can use the SDK Extras to extract the FX textures, but the most important stuff of the FXs is in GlobalData\FXParticleSystem.xml.
I'd suggest you use a texteditor that has a proper search-in-files function like NotePad++ and then simply locate the FXs by brute force at first.
