Yuri (obviously) has been my favorite ever since. He was the only one who succeded in controlling the whole world, storyline-wise of course. He basically did what the Soviets are STILL trying to do, only straight-forward, go for the throat and dominate. QUICK_EDIT
Nod, because they have the Technology of Peace and they fight for peace. Also Allies and GLA _________________ Welcome to the unit, I´ll see you around.

That is their only flaw, to be honest. if they'd had one or 2 more air units they'd be the perfect side. _________________ Yes, work on MV continues. It is not forgotten. QUICK_EDIT
It is a difficult choice, but Nod all the way.
EDIT: The main reason for it is that it has Kane, he is much more interesting than any other side leader.
Oh and look, now Kane is winning.
TBH,GLA is my favorite cuz they are very resourceful(they used old minibuses as mobile fortresses/bunkers and old WW1 Renault Tanks(the scorpion tank is based on a WW1 Renault tank not sure what model though)and most of their weapons are cheap and handy(not to mention allowing you to spam huge forces effectively )Also, they use tons of toxins and high explosives
EDIT:This is not the reason why I have a GLA rebel as an avatar... _________________ The future belongs to The Forgotten!
You are blinded to the world by ideology. Face it, seeding the whole world with tiberium will do nothing but screw up the rest of the planet and turn everyone into lumps of living bio-waste. _________________ Yes, work on MV continues. It is not forgotten. QUICK_EDIT
I'm not pro GDI, I'm pro-me and I have a lot of corroborating evidence that tiberium doesn't do humans (or earth lifeforms) good. _________________ Yes, work on MV continues. It is not forgotten. QUICK_EDIT
I always take a liking to the 'evil' factions. I'd say Yuri instead of the Soviets, but in Vanilla YR his arsenal was terrible. Last edited by Aro on Sun May 17, 2009 5:25 pm; edited 1 time in total QUICK_EDIT
You said it Aro GLA is very(or lets just say easy)easy to use. They can defeat their enemies pretty easily with the use of clever, sneaky tactics such as sniping the driver of an Overlord and then stealing it and order the hijacked unit to start sending the enemy to hell or give the enemy a nice little present in a form of a Paladin only for the enemy to realize that it is actually a Bombtruck full of,well, bombs. But it would obviously be too late for them
IMO,a Bombtruck is waaaaaaay better then a Sudden Transport although both use the same tactic(disguise as an enemy vehicle) _________________ The future belongs to The Forgotten!

GDI/Allies/USA
Although in RA3 Soviets are my favorite faction. _________________ YR modder/artist, DOOM mapper, aka evanb90

The soviets are the best IMO, they don't have any advanced techs on they side, they use a lot of brutal attacks to destroy the enemy and they have the Apocalypse, how i want to drive one of theses!
For the Mother Russia!
Anyway:
Tiberian: NOD (i'm not a big fan of tiberian world but that is my favourite one)
Generals:China (they filled the empty space of soviets in generals ) QUICK_EDIT
The faction I like the best is the Harkonnen, because they *someone whispers* "C&C.....C&C!!"
It may not be CnC but thats very close New options in the poll:Who likes these factions:
Atrides
Harkonnen
Ordos
Looking at the current poll results,no one seems to vote for the Scrin, USA or Empire of the Rising Sun(God,why the long name?)Wonder why... _________________ The future belongs to The Forgotten!

Obviously Nod. Absolutely, I can't imagine why not. Their story is developed so well and the units are better. _________________ Don't throw me into the briar patch.
You and your silly little words. QUICK_EDIT
Nod isn't evil. It's just a common thought, after what they have done to achieve their goals of better future. Nod tends to commit necessary evil more than GDI, but they both think the future of mankind (though differently, and I'm not saying Nod wishes to turn everyone into Visceroids).
Nod, because of their sneaky tactics, "evilness" and other stuff the others already mentioned.
Yuri, because of the best base defenses and mind-controlling. _________________

I'd say Soviet, because of Boris... Nuff said!
Seriously, he may not be able to cross water like Tanya or Yuri, but he has the best primary weapon, and even though his MiGs take a while to get to their target, he doesn't have to go into the enemy base! And, when he's elite, his AK shreds tanks like nobody's business. QUICK_EDIT

I think Nod is misunderstood. See it from their point of view in my story "Prison Escape" (I love advertising my stories ) _________________ Don't throw me into the briar patch.

Which was kinda stupid when you think about it. What kind of air force is made up only of air to ground attack helicopters?
The Soviets only flaw in RA1 (lack of navy) wasn't really that bad since most maps and missions played almost entirely on land.
Lack of aerial options was the greater of two flaws. (Then again, I have modded RA1 to where the air forces are split up and more evened. Also Soviets have a basic navyish [mainly just "borrowing" Cruisers/Gunboats])
Yeah, I am an allied fan, but have my moments of soviet-ness, so hopefully the two will cancel each other out and MV wll be balanced, if not the callings of my loyal comrades will get me to do the correct buffing and nerfing
Also note I like fighters. _________________ Yes, work on MV continues. It is not forgotten. QUICK_EDIT

Well GDI has always been my favorite side on the Tiberian series, then the Soviets on Red Alert. Though it's not because I like their ideal or anything, it's mostly because of aesthetics, I love the heaavy industrial look of both factions.
I chose GDI over the soviets, because they also have that high tech look, keeping their heavy industrial theme.

Well in my case, let's say thanks God that I have Aro on the team . Not really, I still play as Nod, and it's also fun to design units for them, since you can trow some weird stuff that won't look out of place. QUICK_EDIT
Actually, I was referring to lack of variety, Yuri was boring to use.
Hmm... True. I guess it depends on how you use them. I also think they're pretty stupid. But what I like about him is how he executed everything; close to perfection. And he could gotten away with it too, if it wasn't for those pesky Allies! QUICK_EDIT

Is it just me or are the more dangerous sides being picked
Soviets=Kirov, Apocalypse Tank, Tesla Tank, better logo
Brotherhood of Nod=Subterranean APC engineer/commando rush, Banshee, no crappy turbine nonsense, better logo _________________ Don't throw me into the briar patch.

What's the point in that? Might as well just have one faction.
No.. My allied bias and dutchy/destiny's reminder of soviet needs for parity, so that they'll be balanced (and different, gotta keep the different, the whole point of RA was extending asymmetry. _________________ Yes, work on MV continues. It is not forgotten. QUICK_EDIT

but my most hate is Scrin... because personally can't stand with their design.
Holy Master, you speak perfect truth.
I liked Nod in TD, but GDI was far more fun to play as in TS - their side seemed more complete than Nod's. In TW I didn't like any of the sides, they all had the same 'Rock - Paper - Scissors' approach, and the tactics seemed to have drained from all factions. The design choices in graphical style for GDI also struck me as odd, and in simple terms, bad. QUICK_EDIT
I always liked Yuri the most. His side has one of the most unique looks(sort of a 50's idea of future industrial look), along with a unique strategy behind him. _________________ Comcast: Yo dawg we herd yo were downloading, so we put fail in yo modem so yo cant download while yo failin! QUICK_EDIT

Yuri is the only "evil" person from the Command and Conquer series. (Kane was doing necessary evil as said in this topic) Well, maybe the Scrin were evil, but they just wanted the Tiberium. If I were them in that situation I probably would've launched a full-scale invasion on Earth. _________________ Don't throw me into the briar patch.

TBH, Kane isn't that saintly (what good did killing personnel every once in a while do? ). If we organize the factions by "evil factor", it'd go like this:
USA
CABAL (slicing you into parts and then stuffing your remains into a machine body [keeping you half-alive] is much worse than messing up your mind)
Yuri
Scrin
Soviets
GLA
EotRS
Nod
Forgotten
China (chinese are evil by nature, bhahaha)
Allied (ordered civilians to be killed if necessary, at least in one mission. Cruel bastards!)
GDI <-- HOLY!!!
J/k with USA. It's close to GDI. _________________
