I wanna add a super weapon using an existing one, i didnt notice any buildings containing the ion cannon special, I added it to the white house building but i cant get it to appear when i build the whitehouse. the super weapons not marked out like the chem special and empulse special so it should still work shouldnt it?

Hey There first off get Npatch and check out the tutorial of the MDK

Code:
[SuperWeaponTypes]
...
XX=IonCannonSpecial
The next step is creating the section for the new SuperWeapon.

Go to the place where the other SuperWeapons are defined (you don't have to, just to keep it well ordered) and add the following section:

[IonCannonSpecial]
UIName=Name:IonCannon
Name=Ion Cannon
RechargeTime=3
Type=IonCannon ;IonCannon is the type for the IonCannon SW
Action=IonAction ;check out the Adding custom Actions page to find out more about this
SidebarImage=IONCICON
ShowTimer=no
DisableableFromShell=yes

The Ion Cannon SW works like the same trigger action.

You need NPatch, RPatch or Ares for that to work.

He's modding stock RA2 guys. He can't get that patch. You can't change super weapons without it Crevio. Sorry. Unless, you change an existing one a little. The controls are in the [General] section. I'm not sure if you can make an Ion Cannon out of one though.

Technically can be done by hacking the Chronosphere, Weather Storm or even Nuke...

yea, thats prob one of the things i fail to mention is, yes i am modding stock RA2, just dont wanna go thru the hassel of having everyone who plays my maps online have to download certain things to play it, just wanna keep it simple. Yea, I've already hacked the nuke silo to replicate the chem special, But in the rules.ini the info for the IonCannon is listed as AI, like say AIIonCannonConYardValue=10,10,10, can i remove the AI and have it read as just IonCannonConYardValue=10,10,10 or will that mess the whole sequence up?

That logic is used for superweapon targeting (weather storm/nuke) if you delete/change those values you will get IE.
