I was thinking of making a lovely unit that was essentially a modified dreadnought.

That flew.
And launched Mini-Nukes.
It'll be awesome.

However, I vaguely remember hearing something about Spawned projectiles (like V3s and DMISLs) and air units not playing nicely with each other. to compound the problem, I don't remember If it was BaloonHover or JumpJet that it would freak out on.

So, I would love that answered, and forewarning on issues that a beginner would not foresee (I'm learning the what everything does vie ModEnc as I go. I doubt I'll notice when codes won't play nicely together).

Much appreciated!

I finally have a definite question about the unit.

I wanted the unit to chrono about the map for crossing large distances (a "warp drive" I suppose), but slowly float along small distances.

But it seems that I'd have to variably change locomotors to do that -- which I doubt is possible.

Is there a "quick fix" to this, or is this going to get incredibly complicated?

Hmm. Try this tut, but with the new unit having chrono locomotor. Not sure if... the hitpoints will be transferred though Confused

@ MT:Oh! Thank you! that could work. I do need to find a way to put some limit on the warpship, so you can't just warp-in/warp-out (defeats the point of the main ship being slow).

@ WDF: um...I think that could be relevant. Thank you.

See this?

This is the test of my Dreadnought Missile Platform.
what you just saw was a flying ship not flying. the war factory opens it's top so the ship can get out - but the ship just phases through the door instead.

It's supposed to float, just like a kirov. And teleport around.

Well, as pictured above, you can't have your cake, and eat it too.
The jumpjet locomotor makes it work fine, aside from the fact it can't warp about the map (obviously); the Chrono locomotor lets it warp about the map, but it cant float. it will hover on towards the waypoint but will never gain any altitude (dammit!).

I need it to be able to warp about the map, but from the air. Or something just as good like a method to give it a short burst of an insane amount of speed.

I'm off to try to find a fix myself, your suggestions are most welcome.[/i]
