The game was released in 1997 (IIRC) and features a gameplay very similar of that of command & conquer. There are two factions, the survivors and the evolved. The AI is quite intelligent and it even retreats when it is losing too many men on an attack. The game is also full of irony, but what makes it worth getting is the fact that it is fun, of course! Well, it MUST be fun since it is an oldschool real time strategy game. (Fùck off to modern bullshit).
I have played KKND since when I was quite young (about 5 years old, and I was born in 1993). Then some months ago I was looking for some info about the game on wikipedia and I found a page called KKND 2 Krossfire. So I thought "OH LOOK, THEY RELEASED A SEQUEL, I'M GOING TO TRY IT FOR SURE!!!!!!!!111111ONEONEONE". So I got the game and tried it out a bit... First off, I must admit that it took me two weeks to realize where the skirmish page was. In the meantime I tried the Survivors campaign. Well I was kinda disappointed. The first thing I noticed were the graphics which were of course different. And they looked very cartoonish (If that's the correct way to spell it). Now, I mean, KKND never really had realistic graphics but they were ok, but these look too cartoonish.

But well it's okay I guess, I can tolerate them. The objective of the mission was to reach an abandoned survivor base and restore it, and that's what I did. But when I recovered the base and started to build things I noticed one thing........... The gameplay was too fùcking slow. It took many minutes to upgrade a building (and each building must be upgraded 5 times, so you guess how much annoying that is) and it also took ages to build vehicles. I also noticed that they removed pretty much 90% of the infantry units in the precedent game. I only noticed a stupid rifleman and an idiotic engineer.
I was quite disappointed also because the buildings were too resistant... But I thought "Well, it's an early campaign mission, usually gameplay is slow on early campaigns". So after a while I figured out where the skirmish option was, and played a skirmish map against two PCs. That was the hugest disappointment of the whole game. The gameplay was even slower than the campaign mission, the map not only was bland but it also made Wolfenstein 3d levels look brilliant and varied, it's that fùcking bad. I didn't notice any new infantry apart from the afromentioned riflemen and engineers. The new tanks were okay but they deleted some of the old units I think. And the graphics were much better on KKND Xtreme so I really didn't enjoy them much. Then, after many minutes, I finished to upgrade the tech lab (or war factory? who remembers) and I saw they finally made the Outpost buildable in mobile form. I built it instantly but then............ then I had to wait about, 10 minutes? Maybe even more, to get that crappy MCV ready. If this is a method to avoid tank spamming then I must say that it completely sucks. Waiting 10 minutes to get an unit built is the most annoying thing EVER in a rts, after playing against an easy AI.
In conclusion, I think that KKND 2 sucks, and that KKND Xtreme is one of the best games ever. What is YOUR opinion?
Sorry for my terrible english. Also don't take the LOLFAIL too seriously, it's that I'm too retarded to post a 100% serious topic.
