Have you tried to destroy a soviet wall with a rhino? of course you have but have you noticed each time with how many hits?
I've made the soviet wall to have 500 strength.
It happened from just 1 hit to see it crippled or from about 7!! Sometimes it takes 5 hits to destroy the wall, other times 12!! Maybe I wouldn't have payed attention if it was a small variation... but it messes all.
First question: Does it happen to you too? Man, I get to notice many things only now, and I have played it so much...
Second: do you know of an explanation for this?
Third: any workarounds?
I've made a 1500 strength wall and it happened to be dead in less hits than the soviet wall.
Thanks in advance. Last edited by mireazma on Thu Jul 02, 2009 4:43 am; edited 1 time in total QUICK_EDIT
I've noticed this feature ever since TD and it's also present in TS.
In TS i only found a workaround to reliably raising their strength by raising the DamageLevels key in art.ini. So the wall did not only use 2 or 3 but more damage stages. Since each state shows your described behaviour of a random amount of necessary hits, i was able to raise the strength of my big City Protection Wall by the factor 10. Though for that you have to edit the walls SHP, so it also contains the art for the additional damagelevels. (else you would see the shadow frames and then they become invisible when there's no art available) _________________ SHP Artist of Twisted Insurrection: Nod buildings
Thanks. I'm tempted to say that some things behave like they do (abnormally) on purpose. A little random factor in a strategy game based on values, will spice it up, but in this particular case it's too much.
P.S.
sublime SHP's (followed the link in your sig). You're very committed to what you're doing. QUICK_EDIT
