Crevio, before you start voxelling learn some history please #Tongue

Kim Jong Il is Korean XD

Not bad but a tad plain. If you want to do Vietnam you'd need 4 sides/factions (which can possibly be subfactions and share a lot of stuff):
US Army
ARVN (Army of the republic of veitnam, the southern guys on the US side)
NVA (North Vietnamese Army, the regular army of the northern commies)
Vietcong(Communist rebels/guerillas)
Possibly the USMC, if you get REALLY bored.

Russia will only supply thier high tech heli's and maybe a few tanks, oh cant forget the Mig's Very Happy and AA and AG Mortar. while the us will only supply thier high tech fighter jets "at the time", the F-4E phantom,F-105 Weasel, and the infamous B-52D Bombers, with some tanks also, oh and the huey.

IMO, it'd be better to split them so that the North Vietnamese Army who really got the Russian kit had that stuff, and then have the USA as their own side as standard US infantry were better than standard South vietnamese infantry.

yes, you must be reading my mind. instead of the pdplane the Huey will be used for mass paradrops into the jungle, and I havent tried yet but I think I can get the Smokeland anim to work for landing markers too.

do it by blueprints or something, the b52 had 4 pairs of 2 engines on swept wings with squarer tips.

The ussr sent there soldiers form Estonian ssr (and porobably from other states too). I know one guy who works at a construction site, who's been in Vietnam with an engineering brigade.

Looks awesome. You might want to use more diverse jungle terrain.

I hope you're making Agent Orange really really powerful, contaminating the area for a long time, and killing off trees...

at the moment I only have the napalm coded to burn down the tress, however I suppose I could put some type of time delay kill for the agent orange to kill the trees and infantry as well. ahh the agony of a slow painful death. #Mischievous

You should look at the gas weapons.

You could use napalm effects for burning trees, and use "invisible" gas (simple, give them empty animations) to emulate the cancerous Agent Orange.

Nice forests. It would be great to see what you do about terrain in this mod, if anything some new trees, darken the maps, even add ambient rainfall to make the rainforest feel.

yeah, there will be new jungle trees made, as well as some new terrain tiles. I'm currently working on Bamboo fences right now to replace the soviet brick walls, some bamboo structures will be made also. I'm working solo on this so it may be some time before I get to show some real results.

Also that jungle is too thick
really you need to use dark grass terrain as jungle floor and make vechs move REALLY slow through it, that would be better than making it 100% impassable.

Or make some of them use the sandbag logic and have tanks run over them.

Or you could use less trees, as that wouldn't lag like hell on any online game?

well i'm not sure which route i'm taking yet, was shooting for single player mission mod, but could also do a multi player version, then yeah huge amount of trees would have to be taken out for lag reasons.

@Lt, only certain areas have the thick jungle, but this is only a mock map to help me think of what to do. I have a vehicle thats gonna cut paths thru the jungle, and the f-105 with napalm that not only will kill the vietnamese hiding in the jungle but burn the trees down as well.

These are a lot better than when you first started. You've kept at it, opened yourself to the public, and have profited from the venture.

Also, nice to see another idea for a mod out and about.

i guess you like the tank destroyer as base for your voxels #Tongue

@the NV aa gun ... im no expert with shps but if you made this in a 3d prog. you need to change the light to SW (it looks like it comes from NE) and i see you work hard on your mod but i hope you dont use this aagun like this :S... it needs to be rendered at an other background

it looks like it was cuted out of an image ... if in the background is only in one color the shp builder cuts it itselve and then i think it gets a smoother border...

No, you make 1 32 frame SHP of the turret facing each of the 32 directions. No barrels.

There is, just replace the loadingscreen with one of your own, and edit the palette.
