I want to mod Red Alert 2, but whenever I go to Notepad, Word, or WordPad, I have trouble.

oh sorry.
1. Notepad: Says it can't find the path or filename.
2. WordPad: Says I don't have permission.
3. Word: Can't re-save it as an ini, but as a word doc.

My friend uses Vista and also has problems editing ini files.

I know that he puts the ini file(s) he wants to edit on the desktop first, and then edits that one. Then he puts it back into his game directory and overwrites the old one Wink Hope that helps

Try disabling the User Account Control (UAC). Saves you a lot of problems/headache for other stuff to.
