So I just got home from MGMT and I got to say, It was freakin awesome. One of the best acts I've seen, almost as good as Rage against the machine. Was a pretty small venue which was cool and the security didn't seem to give a flying ztype that everyone was on Dak and hitting it hard on the floor.

This got me thinking, has anyone been to any awesome gigs lately, who and where?

I am Happy Very Happy

Nice shit man.
The last gig I went to was the Birmingham Deathstars gig, it wasn't great but it was worth the money. They're brilliant live, I'll tell you now. Got to shake a few of their hands (I even got to light the bassist's cigarette outside before the gig started Very Happy).
I saw Soulfly a while back too, the mosh pit was really disappointing considering the hype that had been built up. Oh well.

I saw motorhead, but I don't know if that counts because it's open air and they aren't exactly new...

Still good though.

I saw Metallica and Lamb of God this year on their tour- the audience was a hugely diverse group of people. In the middle of the show Ive never seen so many people try and cram through a small door to get to the small smoking area outside. Id guess 300 people minimum fighting to get through.
The Pyrotechnics were rediculous- This year I may go see Mastadon or Tool when they go back on tour.

Err, not really a gig. It was a crazy party in a squatted office building.

The music was fantastic, loud breakcore, drum&bass and hardcore techno, and there was plenty alcohol and other stuff... Razz And it was from 2PM to 8AM, so there was plenty of time. Wink

I bump this because I was on one concert in the neighbourhood near ZOO (10 minutes by walk from my home, entry was around 4 €, nothing big, but still good). They ended in the midnight, so tigers and chimps could sleep. :p

Well, I saw just 3 bands of 4, but still they were pretty good (except one guy, the finalist of national round of the Superstar = Pop Idol in America (or X Factor)).

And I had cold beer* unlike one mate who's beer was warm. Laughing

bands:
L.A. - probably good, but I was in home when they played,
MARY COCAINE - HEAVY METAL ftw. (for example HC cover version of the Best of You from Foo Fighters),
ZBYNĚK DRDA - Finalist of Superstar, his voice isn't so fenomenal (but girls like him)

KRYŠTOF - Czech Blues Rock band (they sing in Czech language unlike previous bands which songs were mostly English)
Czech nationally famous band with great singer and capable musicians (percussion, electric guitars - bass and normal el. guitar, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, keyboard).
This band never plays on so called PlayBack which is being used by most bands and singers of Pop music (and Rock sometimes too).
Why? They wouldn't play at all, it would be like playing them from discman and watch them faking singing.
Even though they play really well.
Problem is you wouldn't understand what are they singing.
Mostly it's about failed love,
disaffection by technical civilization, loneliness (babe nipped of)
or funny song about fans of football club Baník Ostrava.

I went to a mad RED concert in Fort Jackson a while back, and before that, Warped Tour 06 was ztyping off the chain. At warped i somehow got moshed during Paramore (still to this day don't know how that happened) Lost a good pair of shoes that day.

I've been to a few good concerts. I'm *really* hoping to see Hollywood Undead sometime soon. "Lookin for the six chicks down with the six dicks." xD

Them and Innerpartysystem. Smile

Oh boy, look what I found! ;P

You see that yellow fluorescent arm? That's me dodging pigsblood and getting roasted by on-stage flamethrowers at Watain.

My silhouette completely at the left during a breakcore gig.
