I just discovered that under one of our wardrobes, there were MILLIONS and again MILLIONS of ANTS in a SINGLE pile...the entire floor was black of them. All I've got is a few ant poison traps and that's it. What's the best way to get rid of them?

Yea, I had a similar problem at a house I use to live at. one of the wall socket started smoking and when i took the socket cover off I found the whole wall was infested with ants. The remedy for is was tearing all the jib board out and nuking them with ungodly amounts of ant poison. When it looks like their all dead lat down some bug salts, not sure of the correct name but it's this salt like stuff that keeps ants and other bugs away for years. Just don't put it near any wiring as it can be a fire hazard.

The problem in using toxic traps is, that we also have cat (she's very interested at eating all kinds of insects for some reason), and the wardrobe happens to be in "her room". I could always move her stuff to the bathroom, though.

Luckily she's too big to fit under the wardrobe, and she doesn't seem to care about the ants anyway.

Well if your willing to spend a bit more you can buy chemical sprayers that kill bugs quick and don't linger long enough for pets to be effected or get ill by eating any dead bugs. The problem is you have to spray quite frequently for a number of weeks to stop them coming back, and I don't know how much those kinds of thing cost where you are but over here you will be spending anywhere from about $50 to $200 on the apparatus.

Kill them with fire.

...or kerosene.

...or bleach.

...or wash them away with water.

...or disinfectant.

...or use a huge book and SMACK.

...or smoke them.

...or lure them all out with a fscking huge burger.

Why would you kill the ants if they didn't harm you? Black ants aren't harmless unless you hurt them. Also they are cute. If you want to get rid of them, use an insecticide or that chalk like thing.

That's another story. Of course I'd eradicate them for the sake of my life.

throw some boiling water over them, bleach works aswell (but smells). and close any cracks and holes you can find nearby.

NO. Take that away from me. I'd rather eat a cockroach than having that in my room.

I always throw those things outside (without harming them). I would do the same for ants, if they only didn't come in ztyping huge numbers.

when I see spiders and stuff walking around in my house, I usually take out an airsoft spring pistol and splat em.

I guess you couldn't realy do that with 1000000 ants though. Say Crim, any chance we could get a screenie?

When I have problems with ants I use these special poisons that don't kill the ants instantly but they take it back to where they live and the whole nest dies.

I never understood why people are scared of spiders being as they're so small, a camel spider I could understand.
Also, I've seen some pretty ugly bugs in my time, but none compare to this.

You've never seen a bird-eating Tarantula IRL, have you? Much less one of the few bird-eaters that secrete medically-significant toxins...

Anyway, these are usually what we have where I live, the Hobo spider:

Black widows like to hide out in sheds, too, but you never see them unless you really WANT to (though who would?). I recently caught a Steatoda grossa crawling around in my brother's room, and wondered how it got this far in from the coastline... oh well. After looking up its behavior, I promptly left it alone since I hate Hobo spiders. I don't hate what they do, I just hate them.

Exactly the stuff I use. It's a nerve poison they should carry to their nest, but it doesn't seem to kill the nest no matter how many traps I set Neutral

the bug i see the most, after the common house spider, do let these live, they do no harm to anyone, unless your a bug, there like little guards keeping everything else out of the house, or out of your eye's way, and you mostly only see them if daddy is looking for mommy.

anyway, i have no idea how you call these in english so enlighten me...
