C&C on N64
Subject description: Ever play it?
Over the past few days, whenever I visit my N64 (at another house), I have been playing my first C&C game I ever received: the original on N64. Naturally, the controls are different than the PC version, but the graphics are where the biggest difference can be found. For one, everything is in 3D. Also, the FMV's are just very quickly paced slide shows, with the original audio. For obvious reasons, the multiplayer LAN/internet functions are non-existent, and there are a grand total of 4 extra Spec. Ops. missions available (some of my favorites, actually).
Has anybody else played it, and what other differences can you see in the N64 version vs. PC version of C&C95? _________________

Sadly, it was how I was introduced to CNC.
It was a two dollar rental, so I ended up renting it for literally a month awhile I slowly beat the entirety of the game.
Despite the awkward controls, it was fun enough to get me playing RA2 when my brother bought it. _________________ YR modder/artist, DOOM mapper, aka evanb90

I got it, it was ok, but was a little on the hard to control side. The only thing I really loved (since at that time I had the PC version too, so it was nothing particularly special) was the 2nd GDI Special Forces where it was a Build-a-base mission but not extremely hard. (don't judge me as a terrible player since I was used to the RA1 Build-a-base missions because that was my first C&C game) QUICK_EDIT
Never played it, but it doesnt look that good IMO. C&C1 on the PS1 was incredibly laggy though and RA1 PS1 was awesome! If ever they make another console RTS they should do it like that. QUICK_EDIT
i used to have it, but kinda lost all my N64 games over the years, thanks to my brother. still have the N64 but no games
i loved that one spec ops mission where you start with the commando, and had to take out sam sites.
then you could bomb the ob,
then you got your MCV, build up and go wipe out the enemie, i played that mission dozens of times. _________________

What C&C1 PSX did you play? On my playstation it runs fine..

What do you mean "What C&C1 PSX"? There is only one... TBH I think it lags because they added lame translucency to the explosions which WW seem never to be very good at. QUICK_EDIT
Holy shit, N64 version..WHY DOES IT LOOK BETTER THAN OUR SUPERIOR PC VERSION!? _________________ Please, I DON'T read the signature rules of the forum. QUICK_EDIT
wtf do you mean? it's 3D, only downside I heard was that it had no cutscenes and had pic slide shows. _________________ Please, I DON'T read the signature rules of the forum. QUICK_EDIT
@omega: no, simply no, Im just saying it looks better, also, are you trying to say that anything that's no Crysis sucks because they have less polys? _________________ Please, I DON'T read the signature rules of the forum. QUICK_EDIT

It was made after the pc,dos, sega and psx Versions and it wasnt made by Westwood, (WW first 3d game was EBFD) so wasnt using the pc graphics.
It would be a good port if thay had added the SSM launcher (i dont care if it had no mp and the ssm is mp only. i loved that unit, nothing like the smell of napalm filled missiles) _________________ Creator of TS:BoB and some other things that might be good when finnished. QUICK_EDIT

EVA-251, you rented it for a month? My family rented it for about 3 or so before we finially just bought it. Command and Conquer 64, Super Mario 3, and Goldeneye are the only games all of my family (san my much younger sister) remembers well enough to discuss with me. QUICK_EDIT
