Practice, patience and time. There is no magic formula.

It takes time. Look at other people's vxls that you like and see what they did, and learn from that. Then look at yours and see what you can improve, and yes, practice.

thats right.

you will find much help in tutorials...

here are thome things that may prevent you to start wrong

- the size .. i think for R2 its something like X=~45 Y=~40 Z=~60.

- will it be an allied or an soviet voxel? ... color cheme sovjet = 64-74, alleid =80-95 i guess..

- use autonormals (paintig normals is complexer) tools->normals->autonormals->(select Cubed autonormals)->ok

- i dont know if it is a good way but i start always with the wheels.. to start from bottom it is helpful to flip it at Z (section->flip->flipz)

-the mirror and nudge thing in section is also very usefull

so thats all ...

Answer me this, did you download and install Voxel Editor III? If you did great!, now do you have the xcc tools? if you dont get them, if you do open up the xcc mixer not xcc mix editor, look for the conquer.mix file "its found in the RA2.mix file in your Westwood/RA2 folder" and double click it. scroll down to where you see the vxl files and right click on one of them and choose to extract it to your desktop "its easier to find" then open it with the Voxell Editor III and look at how they are made. the rest is up to you.[/b]
