New Faction?

I want to add a new faction to the Team list. I mean like when the drop down menu is clicked on at the bottem there will be a faction under Yuri's

Do you mean a new country (subfactions in RA2/YR are known as countries)?

Get the Rockpatch or Npatch mod making kit (with the patches installed) and look up it's tutorial to add a new country under Yuri's faction. Alternately, replace a current country (e.g Cuba) with a new country with tags that makes it a country under Yuri's faction (take a look at [YuriCountry]).

Is there a way to do this with out Npatch or RockPatch because i want my mod to be a little bit simpler. also i want to know because i dont want to replace a useless faction like korea or cuba.

You're going to create complicated messes of your INIs if you attempt to try this without NPatch or Rock Patch.

There is a way to do it, I just cannot find the link to Bobingabout's research.

Nice Joshy. any ways that may work but i dont think for a mod people want to change there exes up. (To be specific i dont think people would trust my mods new exe)

Ok that pic is freaky, anyhow it is impossible to make a totally new (not replaced) faction or country in YR. I suggest you use Rockpatch or Npatch, but be forewarned that Npatch has alot of errors in codeing leading to lots of bugs.

And Rock Patch does as well. No EXE patch has bugless coding.

And you don't release a new EXE. Not to mention that there obviously have been shady things in your past if they won't accept your mod assets.

Edit:Or could i just go and use the upgrade system for yuri's army. Kinda like a upgrade called original Yuri and a new one called New yuri but have it so you can build nothing else until you upgrade upgrades free

Prerequisite upgrades are crap, they have several bugs. Ares is the only EXE patch that fixes them and it's not out yet. Ares, though, will be focused on ironning out bugs, so less Npatch (or Rockpatch) IE crap.

well, all this talk about NPatch is buggy. Try NPatch SE #0020. I used it for a long time and its very stable

Eh.....I'm not a big fan of NPatch, so I still suggest replacing a country that you don't like. Korea, there, you said it yourself. Cuba's okay, but I have to say Korea is the stupidest country in Yuri's Revenge(I don't mean the real Korea, just in-game).
Cancelling out countries is easy, just put ";"s before everything, my kind of solving problems.
To replace a country, just change the country name using a string editor and make new prerequisites and starting units in rulesmd.ini.
