Superweapons news
Subject description: Some good, some not so good
Ok, I've been searching around in the game codes, and I come to the conclusion that most of the 'main' SW (nuke and like) are possible to recreate. I do have some bad news: most of the 'minor' SW are impossible to recreate exactly.
An example: I tried to re-create the Iron Curtain by using the Frenzy special power. You can give the targeted units damage increase, RoF increase, weapon range increase, but not an health or armor increase, which is the one I need.
There is a different way, but it also has it's downsides: the effect doesn't move with the units, it stays at the position it which it was created.
As for the Chronosphere, there ain't much besides spawning a temporal Tunnel Network, which has the downsides that it doesn't move units immediately, and if you somehow forgot to move units out of the 'tunnel' before it disappears, you will lose the units inside.
The Genetic Mutator is an hard one. I've not looked into this one much, but I think it's possible to let it use an death effect for infantry which spawns a different unit. Downside is that I doubt it's possible that the spawned units will be under control of the player who used the Genetic Mutator.
At last there is the Nanoswarm from the Empire. As it's basically a Iron Curtain ripoff with the added effect units can't move, it may be as hard if not even harder to recreate then the Iron Curtain.
That is all. If you somehow think to know some solutions, please post them QUICK_EDIT

I think you can make it look cool that way. Seen that screenshot of EC with that force shield thing?

Nothing much to add, just that I think it would be better if the Chronosphere itself is one end of the tunnel which you can access all the time. this way there won't be disappearing units, and the whole process would be faster, since players only need to press the evacuate button once. Since you can only build one, so you won't get sort of a free Tunnel Network.

Try using crates for this. Basically the infantry's death will spawn a create, which can only be picked up by a dummy object spawned by the mutator, It should have a big geometry, to pick up every crate in the radius. Same method is used for the viral weapons in Shockwave. QUICK_EDIT
In for a little check up. A kid sent me some thing about how to make a vacuum implder via some blower gun that can push units. He said if you made a circle of them pushing in the middle, and then some weapon that goes off in the middle, it might work. _________________ Please, read the signature rules of the forum.
