2 out of 5. It looks strange, unrealistic. It needs a lot of work, or just use something else.

A gif animation of it would be nice.
Right now it looks like one cloud that uses the translucent key of the game to become transparent. I can't see any changes on the shape or the size of the cloud.

So from me 1 point for the anim and 2-3 points for the texture and shape of the cloud.

It's alright, I have to agree with what Orac said though.

Here ya go:

Well, I should also mention the art tags:

Translucent=yes
Rate=300

Somehow it doesn't look the same ingame... Neutral

EDIT: This better? This time I've just increased the rate to 900 (default) and set translucency to 25%. The smoke puff seen closest to the shifter tank is the start of another shot

Art entry:

Translucency=25

Make sure it's the right palette (anim.pal)

This is just a matter of recolouring/desaturating. Wink You can even make it yourself.

It should alter its shape much more during the anim. You know, smoke starts as a thick cloud and then spreads to become less thick.
So instead of becoming smaller it should become bigger but with more and more holes until it finally vanishes in several small pixel clouds.

The last one is indeed really good but it's not suitable for a smoke anim.
being a fire anim i would give it a 4
being a smoke anim i would give it a 3 (with a tendency to 2)

It's to spread out, between animations I mean.

make it scatter more so it doesn't ends in such a circular shape.
Also make it start in black and end in grey, maybe even white.

Well right now it's starting at white, and ends in blackish-red. I really don't know why it shows as yellow in the screenshot, but believe me it does start as white, exactly the way shown in the gif #Tongue

In case you're all wondering what I'm using to make these, it's this Currently I'm playing around with the settings.

Since this is ra2 you can use SpawnDelay= to increase/reduce the distance of the spawn anim.

Oh translucency also lags the game hard online, but you can control it with that detail tag thing.

I think the anim before was fine tbh.

Its gonna be playing so fast anway.
