Primary and secondary weapon
I'm trying to give a unit both a primary and a secondary weapon, both being anti-ground weapons. I've given the secondary weapon a longer range than the primary, and a very long reload time so it can be fired only rarely. I'm getting some mixed results with this. The unit fires the secondary first, then starts to move in to use the primary, but once it gets within the range it simply stops doing anything. I'm guessing its waiting to reload the secondary weapon. Giving the secondary weapon a minimum range longer than the primary weapon range does not help either. Same thing happens. The way I would want it to work is that the unit fires the secondary first, then uses the primary until the secondary is available again. That, or simply use the secondary first, then keep using the primary until given a new target. Any way to get the unit to behave like this? I've messed around quite a lot with the ranges, minimumranges and ROF, and haven't got it to work 100%. Best I got the unit would force fire the primary, and use the secondary on real targets. I doubt that this is possible.
Primary and Secondary are coexistent and not independent from each other. That's why Primary has to wait until the Secondary reloaded. Then Primary can start firing and use its own reload rate.
What you could try is using Burst and BurstDelay on the long range Secondary.
An aborted burst shot allows a unit to fire again, thus with a high BurstDelay (same as ROF), the Secondary should abort its burst when the Primary comes close enough and in turn allow Primary to start fire instantly. But i'm not sure as i haven't tested this. _________________ SHP Artist of Twisted Insurrection: Nod buildings
