Kane's Wrath Mod SDK
Subject description: Community Tool in Development!
Sometimes, dreams come true - usually, you have to put a lot of work into them though. While most of the community was busy dreaming of an SDK for Kane's Wrath, few actually tried; no one succeeded. Now is the time that this might change:
Asuka aka Lauren, well known for his work on many top-quality TW modifications like Tower Defense, has begun development of a tool to actually allow editing Kane's Wrath! And to show that it's really working he already made a small change for demonstration:
However, while his approach is definitely the right one, a project of this size requires considerable amount of work. So, if you are skilled in programming and willing to help, please contact him.

Not to mention by the time is's ready would any of the current predominant C&C 3 mods bother to switch to KW in the first place...
I personally hope MEC2 doesn't switch since I don't have KW but I'd like to be able to continue playing MEC2 _________________

Lauren = Asaka = Ju-Jin = JJ? He's still a him.
You guys are actually going to do this after EALA and CoreAngel called it off? I somehow revived the KW game in Moddb after devs remove the game to prevent future KW mods from going in. And now the latest KW mod will be a custom KW mod sdk.
I just hope you guys do NOT fail this just like what happened to CoreAngel and her team. A better organizational behavior is needed to make this development easier. QUICK_EDIT

I really hope you get this working, a KW SDK would be amazing. _________________ C&C Fan & Modder. Ex-Mod Dev for multiple mods across multiple C&C Games. QUICK_EDIT
I've posted an update on ModDB showcasing a video how map compiling works. Seems there will be a proof of concept demo next month featuring map compilation.
(Assets able to compile then:

it seems the game doesnt load manifests from custom maps. I have tried a few things but nothing really working. I concluded to first do some other stuff like xp etc so that small balance mods are possible. _________________ QUICK_EDIT
It is done! (At least a tiny little bit ^^)
The first version for the public is here. But remember: it is an alpha version and featuring just MpGameRules, ArmorTemplate and LogicCommand. It is not much yet but it can be updated easily. Also it might be crashing from time to time (even if it doesn't for me anymore ^^). If it does please send me infos of what you have done where it crashed and maybe debug information if available.
Note: .net Framework 4.0 is required to use the SDK.
Also you might need to run the Launcher with elevated rights if you run Vista/7 and have installed KW in Program Files (The SDK itself asks for that rights per default).
I held off on purchasing Kane's wrath, due to the absence of any modding support (SDK). Might have to buy it, if this continues to go well. _________________ Why worry about snakes in the garden when there's spiders in your bed. QUICK_EDIT
Can someone compress a rar version of the installed program, as of late my Windows Installer Service has been not working(msis don't work...) and I've done 12-13 different things to fix it, but can't and was realy sad when this gave me the error everything else has been.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Windows Installer? What version of the installer are you using? The minimum version of the Windows Installer in order to install WrathEd is 3.1.
@ Lauren (Ju-Jin) There's one thing that's left missing. A tutorial and some examples. I don't even know how to use this and the documentation is incomplete. This WrathEd seems quite fitting to experienced and expert modders but without the KW xml files and just manifest files, this WrathEd wouldn't be much useful for modding KW.
Also the ArmorTemplate and LogicCommand features are missing one thing to be included: the units and structures to be edited for each. Where are they?
There are some questions worth considering:
1. Is it possible if you can have some C&C3 xml files in a C&C3 mod and work in WrathEd for a KW mod? That also includes art assets, sounds and textures.
2. Is it possible to enable walls in KW using WrathEd?
3. Is it necessary to have extracted manifest and bin files from the KW directory (inside Core BIG files) in order for the WrathEd to get more functions to work?
4. Besides Ms Dotnet Framework 4.0, is there anything else required to run WrathEd? Does it work on all versions of KW or just KW 1.02? QUICK_EDIT

Thanks Asuka, although when I run it, I get this error:
"Unhandled exception at 0x76e542eb in SAGE-BinaryAssetBuilder-CommEd.exe: 0xE0434352: 0xe0434352."
It's probably to do with me missing some .NET Framework/DirectX(although I cannot install any atm) or just the fact that I didn't exactly install it the normal way. QUICK_EDIT
That seems .net related. It is needed to run, an installation is not needed. It saves everything in xml files, not the registry. _________________ QUICK_EDIT
