How to set drop pod infantry

In TS the drop pod infantry is always a mix of E1 and E2. But i want to use a special commando unit for that. Anybody here knows a way of changing this without having to make a copy of E1 and make only that one buildable?

yeah, there does not seem to be any way to set that in the rules.ini or the firestrm.ini

Maybe you could mod the map?

Edit:

Change E1 and E2 to something else, like E21 and E22 and give them Image=E1 and Image=E2, respectively, then you find all references to E1 like "Pilot=E1" and change them to "Pilot=E21", then you make your new commando be E1.

Don't forget to add E21 and E22 to the InfantryTypes list.

The line

Code:

Paratrooper=E1

is in there, but when you play the game you get E1 and E2 in the Drop Pods.

Edit: I went through the FS mission maps and the line "Paratrooper=" does not appear in any of them.

So I think that the game is hard-coded to use E1 and E2 for Drop Pods.

You can try changing Paratrooper=, but I doubt it will work.

Yes, neither one of those lines work. So yes, the only way of doing it is your way, Kravvitz. I was afraid of this.. but it's possible, after all, any infantry that come out of destroyed buildings or units is set to the new units [SURVIVOR] anyway so i could change E1 settings, and make clone.

it's not that difficult, it is slightly more complex then changing the ficticious

you mean in Wordpad, in the Win98se version of Notepad there is no replace feature, but in wordpad there is.

I wish I had the source code for the Ini Editor 2 so that I could find a programmer to add certain features, like replace.

I've never heard of this replace function. from what I can tell windows 2000 and 95 don't have it either(I have those two).
