I am trying to learn how to make an infantry. Kinda, sorta know a little, but my main question is, "look at pic"

programs I have are:

PSP
PS CS3 (but not insatalled at this time)
GMax
Lite_C

have another problem, seems 3ds2voxel dosent want to work correctly, any clues as why its doing this?

First you need to understand uv mapping, if that model is already unwrapped, its only a case of creating a material with that texture(skin) on it, then applying it to the model(if the texture came with the model or belongs to the model it should likely be unwrapped already). If its not unwrapped, the texture will be f*cked up and likely stretched all over the model. You will then have to unwrap it and edit that texture to fit with the unwraped mesh.

Explaining UV mapping, takes too long so watches theses videos cus im too lazy to explain it all. And I dont know alot about blender but I know it has same method as anyother 3d program for unwrapping

Youtubes great for finding out stuff Wink

So USE IT! #Tongue

EDIT: For second problem, maybe you need to extract first, like right click on 3ds2vxl.rar then click on 'Extract to 3ds2vxl'

EDIT: Or maybe you did that! I dont know.

Man I swear to god I look for this stuff but can never seem to find it, I was even at youtube this afternoon looking, ah well, thanks for the links. But I watched them and holy hell that is alot of work for making one person, I think I'd be better of just editing an unused civ.

Problem 2 has been fixed! had to change my rar file into a zip file.

One more question while I'm here. In order to change a 3D model into a .shp all I have to do is take multiple screen shots "rendered of course" of all the angles the voxels use, then compile them with the shp builder right?

Do yourself a favour and disable hiding extensions for known file types, anyone beyond windows n00b that can claim to do any kind of administering of their own computer wants to know what file actually are (or at least what they are claiming to be).

btw the reading of the zip file is part of a non-working broken useless feature that was never finished. just ignore it. it was supposed to be part of an auto-update feature but never got far at all.
