Subject description: WW2 Campaign for Yuri

Well, I have seen all kinds of posts about people starting mods and such, so I guess I will announce my Mod/Campaign that I have been working on for Yuri's Revenge.

The name of it is R O H (Full name not being divulged). It will be a WW2 Campaign from the beginning of WW2 to the fall of Berlin. The easy part is making the German Campaign, the Allied side is a little more in depth.

Currently I have the Allied countries as the following: US, England, France, Poland, Russia, Eastern Europe, and Australia. To save on infantry I am blocking all countries such as Denmark, Norway, Greece, Romania, Czechoslovakia as Eastern Europe. I may decide to remove or add a country such as the addition of Canada to the Allied Side.

The Axis countries will be Germany, Italy, and Japan.

Countries and the cities battles will be as follows:

Poland -Tczew, Warsaw
Russia - Moscow , Lenigrad, Stalingrad, Minsk, Kharkov, Kursk, Kiev, Odessa, Rostov, Sevastopol
Germany - Berlin
England - London
France - Normandy, Paris
Norway - Trondheim, Bergen, Kristiansand, Oslo
Belgium - (unknown at this time)
Luxembourg - (unknown at this time)
Greece - (unknown at this time)
Yugoslavia - (unknown at this time)
Africa - (unknown at this time)
Romania - Timisoara, Oradea, Satu Mare
Italy - (unknown at this time)

Updates on map names will be given. Some of these maps will be used in more than one battle. I can not find good periodic maps from WW2, so I will be using maps from today. The maps wont be exact, but I am trying to make them close or resemble the city.

From the list of maps shown this Campaign will not be short. I am hoping to make this Campaign something will be intense and a challenge. At the current time my AI is pretty tough and I am looking to make it tougher.
Some of these maps, if not all will be available as Skirmish maps too. Probably 2-4 players depending on how I work them.

I am trying to make each country have its own infantry, planes, and tanks. There will be certain vehicles that will be used by more than one country. I will compose a list of vehicles and planes and post them at a later time.

Most of these maps will be Urban Settings, but there might be a few in snow or temperate settings. These maps will have new terrain tiles such as city roads, highway roads, dirt roads, new angled roads, ground, grass, dirt, sand, blending tiles, maybe some new cliff pieces. I hope to have these available for public use as soon as I fix some things.

Let me know when you have ingame screenshots, and any sign that you can do actual work. Until then all there is are a few plans, and I'd recommend you leave actual announcing of the mod until you have more work to show Wink

The idea itself is okay, a bit cliche, but I hope you can do it well and make the mod truly unique.

Well I have about 10 maps made that need triggers and such and maybe 20 more to go. My team has kinda fallen apart through no fault of their own. So I have been forced to go this alone, until their return. I have been working on making terrain tiles. I would like to thnk my mod would be unique since I am using real tanks and weapons, meaning no laser or futureistic weapons. I would like to start putting screen shots up in 2 weeks when I have my tiles hopefully done.

Yep. You're not alone. Mig Eater's D-Day mod is the case, bigger kills smaller, or MigEater eats MiGs, or something like that...

yeah i know Migeater is doing one, i started to work on mine before I knew he was doing one. I'm looking at maybe 35 campaign missions for Germany and 35 for the Allies. Could be more if I find some good info.

How the hell did you not know about D-Day? It's in his sig FFS as well as being one of the most renown mods in the community.

And never forget about Blitzkrieg. It was the first WW2 mods I played years and years ago. I really should go redownload and play it.

well this wasnt the first forum i visited when my team and I started thinking about the mod, so we didnt know Migeater existed. I came up with the idea for a WW2 mod after having a old movie marathon. One of my team memeber told me about Blitzkreig, but if memory is correct the Blitz for ra2/yuri doesnt have a campagin, least the one i have doesnt. I have all 2 Blitz's ra2/yuri and the 2 for GH. The one for GH is cool.

Forget what I said earlier since I couldn't explain it easily. However do think about El Alamein, it was a city in Africa fought in during WWII and is really the only city I know of fought in that is in Africa.

Well, I am doing the European section of the war and the South East Asian part won't be in my campaign. I do know in the beginning Japan was at war with China, but if I can manage to pull it off I might throw China in for Multiplayer Maps. Or I might just go all out and include the Pacific battles. At the moment Europe is my focus for now.
