Hey everyone! I'm sorry for the lack of news posts during all these weeks. As I posted in the previous news, I'm working hard on my final graduation project. If that wasn't enough, now I have other problems related to PPM to solve in the next days. But I'll talk about that later. Let's talk about good news instead.

Nyerguds has posted an updated version of Command & Conquer 95. Yes, he fixed a serious bug that would crash some missions due to the presence of a specific tree type. Also, in this revision, you can assign ctrl + 0 for your team. Here's the C&C Gold 1.06b Revision 2 changelist:

Quote:
Revision 2:

# Missing team 0 bug fixed: The "assign team" function (ctrl+number) now works for the number 0 too, like it did in DOS C&C
# Fixed a crash that occured on temperate/winter/snow maps when showing the tree type 'T13' on the minimap after saving the game
# The box that appears in network games when the game tries to (re)connect to players is now centered in high resolution
# Fixed the fact that the "Start New Game" function crashed the game if either of the campaign starting missions had no starting videos configured in the mission file
# The Funpark launcher program no longer triggers virus scanners (it was never actually a virus though)

And remember that everyone can play it for free, since EALA released it as freeware in the 12th anniversary of the Command & Conquer franchise. Too bad that this year they didn't release Tiberian Sun.

You can grab it HERE

1.06c is coming soon(ish), but at least now I can take my time without worrying about the fact the previous version contained a serious game-crashing bug Smile

Nyerguds the shepherd?? lol.

Say, this announcement should also be updated in TFD forum section of the official CNC forums.

I've fixed the news with an updated screenshot provided by Nyerguds, the full change list and the 'freeware' Wink.

All Nyerguds patches do, by changing a boolean in CONQUER.INI.

Also, i can ego trip about the team assignment command #Tongue

Hmm where?

After 1.06b 640x480 stopped working for me, so I've stuck to 1.06a. I've told Nyerguds before but he didnt say anything about there being a tag in the ini.

Its should be Conquer.INI -> Resolution=...

0 - 640x400
1 - 640x480
2 - 1024x768

IIRC...

I already told you the problem. 640x480 doesnt work, it just acts like 640x400, every since 1.06b.

Wait, why would you WANT 640x480, with the black borders?

Ehm, hate to break this to you, but the stretched one has the correct aspect ratio. The GDI logo in the sidebar is supposed to be round, and only 640x400 does that correctly. All C&C graphics are made for that aspect ratio; the original DOS C&C is 320x200.

I think the problem is CRT vs LCD. I don't use an LCD monitor, so everything is stretched far more naturally.

Crashes for me :/
Menu works fine it's as soon as I get in game, I have about 2 seconds of mouse control then it just freezes with the music still playing.
I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate. Any help would be much appreciated.
Sorry there's not much to work with there...

Run the game in Win98 compatibility mode.

I was planning to make the installer set the compatibility mode automatically ('95 for XP, '98 for everything above XP), but I forgot to add it. I got the code ready for the 1.06c installer, but since 1.06c has a lot of differences, I made the current installer from the older 1.06b r1 installer, which didn't have that code yet.

I just updated the installer packs; the new versions will now automatically apply compatibility mode.
