I opened the CD case, shifting through the pages, looking for it.
Taking the CD out of the cake, I admired the artwork on it ’11 years, and it still looks brand new!’
‘Tiberian Sun?! Again?!?’ My brother said with disbelief. ‘Get out of here, you lil monkey.’ I threw the first thing I could grab, a small eraser, at him. My brother ran out of the room without looking back.
I took the other two disks out of the case, inspecting each one in turn: Not a single smudge or scratch on the disks, the colours of the artwork looked as crisp as they did on the day I first got the game: flawless!
My brother did not understand, he wasn’t even born back then… some things are much more valuable than they seem.
I remember the day when I received it on my birthday; I was 10 years old at the time… I’ve had a SNES, and even a brand new PC; but it did not interest me: I spent my days collecting soft drink cans to turn in for money, getting into fights with other kids, playing soccer. I did not imagine, that by opening that game box I would discover a new world, something that would change my life – As cheesy as it sounds… it’s true: My interests…. fascinations defined the way I thought, the type of friends I made, paths in life I chose. It’s not just a game… not to me. Looking at the disk brought back many memories, not all related to the game, some had nothing to do with it – Yet the game, was a window to those years in my life, a simpler life of joy and fun.
I caressed the golden painting on the GDI disk: “I’ve missed you…my friend.’

Wow! You should see my tiberian sun cd box!
It would give you a heart attack, the cd been missing for a while (like 3 years), the box is cracked, the booklet, well I dont really remember the booklet and the box has alot of dust on it.

And thats why I bought the first decade, but now even that has some scratches and probebly awaits the same faith.

If anything your story has reminded me to throw that old cd box into the rubbish! so into the rubbish bag you go.(good thing you cant see this)

Ya I dont really have much pride for my games

And I think its very brave of you coming out with this, its a good start, so now, go and SEE a physiatrist,
like not even a single smudge or scratch on the disks, have you even put them into your drive yet to play them #Tongue

Nah im only messing, its not the worst story or confession ive heard

C&C RA2 did the thing for me - it made me read history, philosophy and political ideologies. For a brief time I was even a communist because of it.

Yeah, we've all got something from C&C. I learned English by looking up from dictionary what the words I saw in C&C1 meant. I even remember searching for "Conflict" #Tongue

Watching the Statue of Liberty get blown up by a gigantic Soviet warship when you're 13 is pretty ztyping awesome. Easily the best opening video for a video game I've seen, until the L4D2 one.

I still have my N64 Cartridge box on some shelf from C&C 95. Better yet, I think I have my copy of Red Strike (RA2 + YR) on my shelf. Boy, is that set of CDs used. I have installed that game on 1... no, at least 5 computers since I got it. Good times, indeed.

Well, technically, I'm still borrowing my copy of TS & FS... but Ive been borrowing them since 2005, which would have been the second half of 9th grade for me. I haven't seen the guy who lent it my way since. Some say that he is in Sweden, but who really knows.

The part of the YR intro where the Gattlings mow down the Harriers made me fall in love with Gattling/Miniguns #Tongue Hell, I even extracted the firing sound and put it in IC #Tongue
