ModDB Mod of the Year 2009
Subject description: It's that time of year again.
It's that time of year again people. For the past eight years ModDB has celebrated modding culture in style with the always popular Mod of the Year Awards. ModDB, with its heavy focus on community leaves it in your hands to select the winners, and for the past 7 years you have not disappointed with some great titles taking out the grand prize. For much for information visit the official ModDB MotY page.
It would be excellent to see a mod from PPM win this year, though I know it's very hard to compete with mods from the newer games these days, but you never know! There's a first time for everything they say.
PPM Mods up for Nomination (Keep in mind you may vote for more than one mod):
Of course there are plenty of other mods from various other communities that deserve recognition too such as projects from Revora (The CNC Guild) and Freedom Studios. A few of those projects worthy of a mention are:
Good luck to all the mod leaders and teams, lets see if one of us can pull off getting into the top 10 this year. If I've missed your mod (and is worth mentioning) post a reply and I'll add it to the list when I get the chance. Last edited by Aro on Tue Dec 22, 2009 2:46 pm; edited 3 times in total QUICK_EDIT
A news post about Mod of the Year means that people have the choice to vote for whomsoever they want, I have voted for TO, MV, TFTD Redux, and ROtR so far because I believe that they most deserve recognition, not because I like the forum on which they're hosted better than the others. Regardless, I provided links to the other mods that should be supported as well. PPM isn't the only place where quality mods are released, and most of the YR projects here hosted have no release. (not that Moscow's Vengeance or Dominance are really hosted here anymore) QUICK_EDIT

Votes for Revora hosted mods should be promoted at Revora and votes for Freedom hosted mods should be promoted at Freedom. Understand that ModDB has estabilished limits the amount of votes per member and a vote for outside mods does reduce the chances of PPM hosted mods to get to the next stage of the contest. QUICK_EDIT
Err if a mod gets through its a victory for the mod and it's team, not the hoster... it shouldnt matter whether its PPM, Revora, or Freedom - theyre all C&C mods. QUICK_EDIT

While it is not a direct victory for the hoster, a good performance attracts visitors and increases the credibility of the community that hosts the mod. QUICK_EDIT
All mods hosted at ModDB have a vote button, so as mentioned above.. represent your mod at the site where you chose to host it, and just vote as you wish. QUICK_EDIT
But if we link to all the different mods, places that need the activity (like the Guild) will have newer people checking out projects. God knows PPM doesn't need more people, this place is pretty active.
Plus, it can't hurt to spread quality projects when ModDB is full of terrible "add 100 units like uber nuke yuri" QUICK_EDIT

We already do that for other type of news, not for a ModDB contest with limited amount of votes per person which is less than the amount of mods here.
If a mod from Revora, Freedom or whatever place releases a new version or they have an interesting screenshot, render or video to promote it, inform us and we'll happily promote the mod here.
But in a ModDB contest, each community is on their own. Every year was like that and this year won't be different.

I've noticed I've made a mistake. MOdDB used to limit the amount of votes per member in the previous editions of the event. This time, they are allowing people to vote on every mod they want... and I really mean every mod. I've voted for all mods from this list. QUICK_EDIT
I do think we should be smarter. And the whole ppm community should vote for one mod, to get more points. Because it will be impossible to win, with seperated votes for anyone from ppm, that way. Its even hard to win with all the votes from the ppm community. _________________ Lost Relic[mod] Lost Relic[game] QUICK_EDIT

As Eva-251 requested, please add Bluehell Productions' projects, Red Alert: A Path Beyond and Red Alert 2: Apocalypse Rising to your list. Our sites are www.apathbeyond.com and www.apocrising.com respectively. We've always had a strong showing in the MOTY and would like to have PPM's support once more this time.
We are in the Indie Game running, so we do not "conflict" with your favorite C&C RTS showing either.
Thanks again for the support! Vote for APB, AR, and let me put a special plug in for my buddy Bittah Commander's own DTA too
Don't forget, we are still in the nomination stages and you should not be discouraged from voting for more than just one or two projects. Please boost up any C&C project you feel has shown the potential and offerings that represent what C&C modding is all about, worry about final voting once we get to that stage. _________________

QUICK_EDIT
Haha, seems that he has ignored TI
Guess which was the first mod I voted for? ^^ _________________
