Is there a way (if it's even possible) to take a sprite from another game like a gba game or something like that for example, and turn it into an shp for RA2?

if you get the sprite sheet, you can do it by hand.

sprites and shps are pretty much the same thing except different format and qualitty. only problem is when sprites need to turn. I am unsure if its possible to convert but if you simply copy and paste each frame, it can be done.

Technically yes. But you'd need to order them correctly and make each one into a frame, then write the Sequence.

everything is there so it would work, just use paint and shp editor or something and cut up the pieces together and figure out the sequence.

open art.ini and put the correct frame numbers in the respective fields of the sequence keys.

Look at GISequence and compare it with the GI.shp. Then you'll see how it works.

The OS SHP Builder has a sequence generator. It's not perfect but close enough to where you can fix the rest yourself.

bmp would be my guess, unless you have multiple frames - then I'd use gif.

I would break them down then make an animation gif of all the frames. probably would be best as you can simply import the multiple frame gif into shp builder easily. just takes time and patience.....

Personally, I would make each frame a .png of the same dimensions, and then use the import function in shp builder.

each frame should to be named in a sprite_0000.ext format.
