If there is one thing that goes unnoticed in the C&C games it is the bases. I have been thinking, why not see who can put together a great base via map editing (Crucial to getting a great fortress to emerge). Basically, you are using a map editor to create a base that is a singleplayer mission with a faction theme, patrols, and all the functions of a working base and then some. I really am not sure if this will be a mess but it would be great to try.

Prizes: Bragging rights, any others are to be determined.

Judges: Need some.

Games: TS & RA2 (TS is probably your best bet here IMO)

Submission Due Date: To be determined

Kickass Logo: Absent

Judge Criteria
Playablility: 20 - Has to be playble via a campaign.
Creativity: 30 - What good is 30 maps all the same design.
Natural Flow: 20 - Let mother nature lend a hand to beautify your base.
Triggers/Teams/Patrols: 20 - Make the base come to life.
Defense: 10 - What use is a base without defense, can be natural or man-made.

Rules (Subject to change)
The map must not be put up for download or shown anywhere before the end of the contest.
The map must not have a single IE, simple bugs will be deducted from playability.
The map must have a faction theme, no GDI/Nod or Yuri/Allied Coalitions.
Answering choice 4 on the poll is automatic disqualification.

Anyhow, it's in need of judges and a logo. I guess only about 3 judges.

Delayed til some of the other contests end.

Wait.... let me see, soo its an contest to make the most real and kick-ass AI and also an good fauna,etc...?

Looks strange but very interesting Very Happy

But, now theres also the Carthographers call competition happening, i don't think guys will work on two maps in like 1 or 2 months, i think, you should, put it on hold, until the other competition is over! Confused

EDIT: really, i don't get the third rule! Confused

It means you can't have a GDI base with Hand of Nods and Nod War Factories.

Currently im working on a GDI/mutant commando mission to do with taking on a fortress city, would something like this be allowed? or can it not be that sort of mission ?
also would fortress citys also be allowed as well as or instead of big bases?

as long as i dont have to change my map lots from the original idea
im in

Edit again what about expansion packs and map expansions?(although i dont use them) would you be allowed to use yuris revenge rather than redalert or could you use TS with firestrom?

What's with this huge fluxuation in comp's? To many at one time is a very bad idea. We already have (2) mapping comps going, and a small building comp. "Insanity grows near" Very Happy

yea Darkstorm i think it would be wise to put it of for a bit, find out if the other map comp judges want to take part etc, then workout a date which is best (at least a week after the 15th)

(ive only just learnt about the the small building comp and hate mapping RA2 so im going for this comp)

Yeah, I was thinking about that, I guess I'm gonna have to delay this until the end of the other competitions, the only "allied" themes as far as factions go would probably be GDI/Mutant but only slightly. As far as mods are concerned, I'm gonna have to say only modding to the map, no external mods.
