So recently I have joined the Strike.net place that was holding that QuickMap Patch thing that Aro submitted one of his YR maps for over there. (Mainly so i could just toss a map as an option over there too) Anyways to the point:

Now they have a Map Renderer Program for RA2/YR maps that generates full mega-map previews. It works awesomely and quickly for RA2/YR maps of course. Using it a few times just to mess around with it I went back to the place where it was posted up and asked if it could work or be made to work to do Map Renders for TS/FS. The answer I got was no. BUT this is what the guy who is working on the Map Render project said

Quote:
sourcecode in svn if u can get someone interested.
shouldn't be that much work actually, nearly everything from ra2 support can easily be reused. that said, i might do it someday, perhaps even this month, but i doubt it

So with that...is anyone interested enough in making that? I'd imagine that it would be quite useful of a tool especially for mods like TI which have 40+ maps and more to come and also just for the normal mapper who releases maps to the public.
If so then I would of course suggest talking to zzattack over on strike-team.net about it.

I'm definitely interested in having access to the source code, to see how maps are saved and how they can be loaded and rendered. But i'm not sure if i have the time and knowledge to change the code to work for TS.
Can you post a link to the page or the svn version?

google gives me for "strike.net" an info page and counterstrike, but nothing C&C related.

Go HERE to get to the topic in the Strike-Team.net forums which has the map render program.

You will most likely have to register there though as IIRC they have it restricted from view to guests. But you'll need to talk to zzattack anyways to get the source code. Though I'll go over there and PM him and link him to this topic too.

so out of curiosity has anyone tampered with this to get the map render program to work for TS and FS maps yet?

Just wondering since it's been a good bit of time and I haven't heard anything from it.
