Does anyone know how I could get the Gap Gen/Mobile Gap Gen to work, the effect. Is it at all possible to Shroud an area to another player and not the player controlling the unit?

no, it's not possible. TS simply doesn't has the necessary logic inherited from RA1.

The only thing you can do is letting the shroud grow back and/or the fog of war. (see ShroudGrow, ShroudRate, FogOfWar, FogRate)

The closest I've got is giving a structure a wide-area very negative light value. This way that part of the map gets very dark and you're unable to see what's going on.

There are many disadvantages:
- AI doesn't see a difference, for human players only.
- The radar map will still show.
- MoveToShroud=No will of course not stop any units from going to the area.
- Tiberium patches will stay perfectly visible, as will anything crossing it.
- Both you and enemy players will see this 'fog'.
- Don't save the game or you're stuck with the GAP forever.

However, I do see some potential for campaigns.

I figured it will be something like that, hopefully Hyper can fix that with his Patch.

Why do you want a gap gen anyway?
The AI and the player units can fire on enemies under the shroud anyway, so i doubt that a gap gen would give you any protection at all.

Well its hiding information from the human player which mean they may be forced to use x resources to explore it or random fire which isn't as effect in TS due to lack of significant cell spread.

Also afaik by default aircraft have MoveToShroud=no in TS so a bit more micro would be required.

Cause I'm making a RA1 mod for DTA.

I did that years ago for original DTA. Original Menu, units, shps, sidebar, sounds, movies and everything was all included. But it gets a bit boring when you can't 100% make a MAD Tank or mechanic. Iron Curtain, Chrono Tech, paradrop, spy plane, GPS (without ETS), sonar pulse, chrono vortex, thief, gap generator... the list goes on... In the end I found it more worthwhile to just... play RA1 Aftermath.

With RA being free now, it seems to me to be better to innovate in TS..
But DTA still remains awesome, so I may have proven myself wrong #Tongue
