I was planning to done something much complex, but it seemed impossible,so I gave up and stayed with that mod.

Feature:
-allow an observer side for skirmish

Good things:
-you can watch IA battles when you don't feel like playing
-only text files in the .big file,so you can take whatever you want and make a modified version of the mod,or add things to your own mod
-the common "get rid of ea logo at startup" feature is included
-can be used together with other mods!

Bad things:
-the IA sometimes pick the Observer when using random faction
-can't be used "as is" with a mod that add or modify factions
-can that thing be called a mod? Rolling Eyes

To use it together with another mod (tested on Tiberium Essence):
1.Copy the big file from the Spectator mod to the mod folder
2.Open the .skudef file in this folder with a text editor
3.Add the line "add-big Spectator_1.0.big" before the existing add-big line
4.Save the file
5.Run the mod you want to play with, and the Observer faction will be available in it.

If the mod you want to play with modify the playertemplate.ini file (it can be checked with a .big file editor),and you really want to use the Observer with it,you would have to:
-extract the playertemplate.ini from the mod .big file
-extract the playertemplate.ini from spectator .big file
-add the part of spectator playertemplate.ini about the Watcher faction (it's at the end of the text file) in the other mod playertemplate.ini.
-put the playertemplate.ini in a .big file and use this file instead of spectator big file.

I don't know if this should be considered a real mod,or a tool for modding,or...something else Confused ,so i'm putting it here for the time being.

I hope it can be useful.

I tried this and it's not a true Observer mode.

In true Observer mode you would be able to have a 4 player map and actually watch 4 AI players go at it.

With this mod you still have to select 1 of the 4 players in order to watch but that eliminates one of the AI players making the game a 3 player match.

You can do the same thing by just adding an extra player to a 4 player mao and at game start just sell your MCV.

This would trigger a Defeat and then you just sit back and watch.
