The entire point of this game is to bring cooperative real-time strategy to the next level. It accomplishes that goal quite well, but does so at the expense of everything else.

I sort of have to agree, from the limited time I've spent trying to feel like playing it...
It tries very hard to be everything, rather than choosing something to be and being it to the biggest potential.

Actually the entire point of this game was to tie-up the loose ends and close the story of Kane, which it failed to do entirely. Sad

The ending is so bad, it actually takes away from TD, TS, and TW because you know how it will ultimately end. The entire canon was hinging on this and it was obliterated in one poorly acted, directed, and produced ending cinematic. It's really a shame.

There is no redemption for such crap but thankfully i haven't cared that much in long time.

Amazingly C&C4 did not get canceled while Tiberium fps did and i would say quality of just UT engine just dwarfed SAGE/RNA.

Sam Bass even admitted that the zoom level is low because current sage/rna engine is limited to such performance wise. Rolling Eyes

Supcom2 is a shadow of first game tho...

personally i like supreme commander 2 as supreme commander 1, it scale may smaller but it still big compare with another rts game [the best thing is the game performance very smooth and no lag ]. it may disappoint the fan but it still good rts game not like c&c4 now it not only bad c&c game but it even bad in term of rts game.

at least c&c4 is better than stormrise and maelstorm...

Hah hah, oh my god, I can still remember the reason they cancelled Tiberium. Because it did not meet the quality standards. FFS!!!

If it didnt even meet EA's quality standard it must of been absolutely dire!
There is gameplay footage on gametrailers, it looks very..... generic and boring

This game is an example of corporate failure at its greatest.

A lot of hate is being directed toward Samb Ass and the EALA dev team, but lets not forget who EALA was taking orders from; somebody up there in corporate with no real understanding of how it works on the ground.

"Here's a deadline, you're going to meet it, regardless of quality standards."
Its painfully obvious that there was quite a bit planned for CNC-4 with nowhere near enough time to do it.

Frankly if it wasn't for the fact EALA failed to adapt to these adverse circumstances, I'd feel bad for them.

I demand you to watch the intro and outro to mission 01 from youtube, and then some gameplay videos. It may have been generic or not, but it would've beated C&C4 anytime.

If you don't look to deep into the game you can get some enjoyment, but very little at best, TS or even TW will give you tons more.

Every once in a wail you find a review that cant make you stop laughing.

http://g4tv.com/games/pc/62543/Command--Conquer-4-Tiberian-Twilight/review/

"Stellar graphics and musical score"
"Extensive multiplayer (competitive & co-op) adds plenty of replay"
"Must own for RTS fans"

WTF? did they even play the game? You have to watch the video its really funny.

The fact that they gave it a 4 out of 5 just blows my mind. This place has no idea how to rate games, I have seen them butcher so many games for reasons that should have been addressed in this review.

Well I dont think Tiberium looked good myself. The cutscenes had wooden animation, like something from 10 years back and the overall texture quality wasnt great. Although who knows how it could have been improved with more development time.

Anyway I don't think it matters. The fact that C&C now has a proper ending doesnt change anything... people will still always invent their own as they have done. Modders arnt only limited to following up on the latest storyline/game, they can always continue from TW/FS/TD or even reinvent the entire universe.

Although....if you go by the comparisons the fanfic version of Tiberium Wars was as opposed to the official novelization (which is horrible) it's not hard to top EA's creativity.

I suspect give a month and somebody will have written or modded something vastly superior to this load of shite.

my take as seen on MSN

the campaign thus far has it's ups and downs
theres alot of replayablity, because you can change your class but also go back once you've earned all the ranks and play again with a full arsenal
but you can respawn in the course of the mission....and so can your enemy. So much so, that you can never actual defeat your enemy
instead, you have to get whatever objective is at hand
one mission had me defending a downed air transport thing and I was tryiong to defend it with units
bu the enemy didn't stop
so I just suicided all my units, and used all my command points of engineers
and had the engineers repair the ship, and that won
you also get a very small pop cap
so you have to focus everything on one thing

RTS games need to be versatile, and C&C4 manages some aspects of versatility in replayability at the price of versatile gameplay.

No, actually you have a limited number of respawns in the campaign. 4 I think. Anyhow, it does have quite a bit of replayability but the unfortunate truth is that the leveling system, that adds some length to play, ruins the game at start. Until you get mammies or avatars just do easy skirmishes and go crawler hunting, you can rankup pretty quick that way.

I feel strongly compelled to play this before making any further judgment, but from the reviews that are worth trusting, some make it sound like a disappointment. I don't want to have to pay 50 dollars to find out, if this is the case...

at least somebody out there seems to be enjoying it.

I was at the game store. Universe At War and C&C4 was sitting next to each other. I bought Universe At War without much hesitation.

Graphics are way better. The terrain tiles arent broken like in the Tibeirum Wars and C&C4

EA should learn form SC2 and UAW Earth Assult

UaW has to learn a few things for itself, as well. SC2... well, where would EA get a second Korea? Laughing

I did not buy the game, but I have seen masses of people with the same problem on the official forum. As far as I can tell, the only consistency that I see is that all of them have 64 bit operating systems.

Do you have an x64 OS?

Oh and BTW, I saw your posts on the official forum and I just wanted to warn you...
that place is a hellhole overrun with power-hungry-stealth-moderators, incompetent official leadership, and masses of trolls and spammers. Not to mention the overall vibe of rage and hatred that you get when you go there. Mad

What happened is EA probably found a bug that occurs in rare system configurations, but they couldn't fix it. So instead of pushing the launch date, they just released the game.

I'm sure they will have a hotfix very soon.
