MCVs in a crate are kinda rare though. Even still, I don't get the objection to MCV crates... it gives a bonus to someone lucky enough to actually find one in a crate. But it's a moot point anyway since what I found was that crates were off during competitive, or serious, games.

I was rather talking about a situation in which player loses ConYard and SUDDENLY MCV. Probality of getting one is too high without a CY.

Blade, you really should start up The Project again. I was actually looking forward to working on that. #Tongue

If I added yuri units in crates a lot of players would rage at me and ask wtf. I wanna keep it as close to the original while adding to it to make it more interesting.

You could always do that via game mode then.

Yeah thats a better option which I already considered but no #Tongue

I was how ever planning a far better megawealth mode.
Where the oils are place placed in key locations on the maps and disabling the option to build near them which would add a dawn of war/company of heroes style resource gathering/holding feel to it.

Wouldn't people just move a con truck near it then place a crap load of defence structure then move onto the next?

I'm pretty sure that the point of considering things it to find, then execute, the better option #Tongue

since when is building defense structures ever a good idea? except maybe yuri at most, everyone has useless defenses not worth paying for except AA maybe. Even if people built defenses over structures, the player is taking a chance to move a mcv without getting bombed by the player aswell as the point that he said "key locations". that does not mean there will even be an area to deploy.

You have no idea...

- Pillboxes and Sentry guns are always worth buying be they for anti-scout or something to take up damage instead of your units
- Flak Cannons and Patriot Missiles are essential against (good) Allied opponents otherwise you're going to get raped in all 500 directions
- Prism Towers and Tesla Coils are very useful when it comes to a long game where all players have decided to pull the camping card

Yuri's Defense structures are also very useful in the same points, but rather than using Gattling Cannons for damage sponges as you would with Sentry Guns or Pillboxes, they're best kept for preventing an infantry rush or rocketeer rush. Tank Bunkers are very useful in both generic defense and Anti-Tank rush, people always underestimate them while up against Yuri opponents, pretty much always costing them the game.
Overall, defense structures are very worth buying in plenty of circumstances. Online in pro games you'll find it's good Tank Control and proper Build Orders that win matches, or you could just be extremely lucky and win out of the blue with a lamers tactic.

I love defenses with a passion, because base building is what attracted me to C&C in the first place. Its a staple!

Ztype yeah!

Try not building defensive structures and then fight with an easy enemy. I'm sure your base is gonna crumble unless if you create spam of units.

No...no... I'm pretty sure that some GGI and Snipers in IFVs could take care of them...

You are all still thinking yuri's revenge when you should be thinking ra2 units and under 'key locations' I mean high traffic areas of the maps that the players would find beneficial to hold for wining the games.

As words don't quite describe the online play on those 2 games I suggest you take a look at the following few videos from one of the best players on both of the games.

http://www.youtube.com/user/bobmarkobob

This is what pro level play looks like!

Meh. I never built defenses. Just AA :p there is just to much other things cheapier and better the same time. Like GGI is like really pro against vehicles while attack dogs are pro against infantry. Your more expensive power consuming defenses just doesnt seem worth it to me. Though I guess im worng. I dunno. Im just saying from my expierence for several years.
