Need someone with experience in dealing with tree's. I made some new tree's and cant get them to appear in game. They are replacement tree's for tree02, tree03, and tree04. They are saved as shp(ts) .tem files just like the normal tree's in the game. I have them in an expand.mix file also. everything is in place but they will not appear in game but appear in FA2, and in mix file. Any clues to wahst going on?

Thats crazy, it will let me add new tree's but wont let me overide any! I added this in as tree31 and wouldnt you know it, it worked. Go figure. I still dont understand why it wont let me override an existing tree though.

Try using an ecache & not expand mix.

I always thought that when you replace an existing object in goes in an expand.mix but thats ok I got them to work. I just added them as new tree's. Thanks Mig.

Nice trees, btw. I like them. It's best to have multiple trees in one terrain type (i.e. "tree" as the game defines it). Shouldn't the leaves of the tree to the right be shaded because of their angle, though?

Palm tree leaves aren't that dense/thick so light can go though them, so the shading is ok IMO.

The actual tree looks a bit bright tho & is a very similar colour to the rocks below them. Making them more brownish instead of tan could help.

The trees existing in the game are hardcoded. Also are you planning to release that tree? I really like it. Very Happy

I dont know where you came up with that "trees are hardcoded" so where ever you found your info or whoever told you that, it's wrong.
