As long as I have been fooling around with this game I just now found out how to make the game play in my monitors full resolution = 1400x1050. It never dawned on me to do this. I just so happened to be flickin thru ini's and came across it. I've seen others do this but never new how. This is great, no more having to scroll down to find a unit anymore which can be costly in the middle of a battle Razz I also resized the gdi screen to fit. Mines at 1227x1014 and looks much better than thiers at 633x558

Yeah, you can easily change your resolutions via SUN, RA2 or RA2MD.ini, depending on which game you're playing. Good work with the logo resize, btw. You should only add black to the left side so it would be aligned to the center ingame.

Anyway, now that we're at it, who doesn't love a big resolution? Very Happy

I do it with TS but I don't change it with RA2, I don't know why... Confused

I guess I could do it now.

As what asvnix said. Maybe some people don't do it because it's not a good idea.

So why do you think it's not a good idea? I have no problems with it whatsoever.

Well, you cant play with others online if youve got an altered resolution (although thats fixed with Ares). I also just hate it being so big ingame.

yeah I know about not being able to use it online, this is just more of a personal preference for normal play. When your playing 1 vs 7 bruts you need an extra advantage, so being able to see everything available is, well to me, crucial.

Does the game accept your resized pause menu screen? I was aware of the ability to increase the ingame resolution, but I hadn't realized you could use a new, larger pause menu screen image to fix the gap error and get the game to accept it. Could you post a screenshot of your pause menu? I'm curious to see that it displays correctly.

yes, you can have the game read the inlarged pause screen image. I'm currently using this one for now, the Russian logo will be removed and replaced with the Kane scorpion tail logo.

Well, I'm pretty sure that most of you (or some of you) konws that I use 1920x1080 in RA2YR...

Anyways, Cranium, how did you resize it perfectly? I tried PSP and even Windows Paint for ztype sake and it always ends up pixelized!

Why would you size up the metal border as well?

@001010011100101110, I use PSP9. What ver you have? I might be able to help you.

@OmegaBolt, the metal border is part of the background .shp, If you take a look at the ones in the original mix files, they all have it.

He actually did a very bonny job on resizing the screens themselves, much better than anyone else is yet to do.

@OmegaBolt, I dont think theres anyway around this. The metal border is part of the background image. There's not a seperate ship for just the border. So when you resize the image the border gets resized with it. But if you know of a way to do this let me know.

@001010011100101110, I dont think they had BigScreen let alone WideScreen in mind back in year 1999/2000 Razz

Thanks, Aro Very Happy

You could cut the border out & then c&p it until it's big enough...
