Yeah, what the title says. I'll start off with what I really think is one of the best VGM tracks I've ever heard: The final boss theme from Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal (used to play these games when I was a kid).

I have fond memories of the soundtrack to Age of Mythology.. The musical score of the game added so much to the atmosphere, and has a level of detail which I really haven't seen in many other places.

The names all had odd titles, which wasn't a problem ingame as there isn't a playlist to look at. Anyhow, "A Cat Named Mittens". The title theme to Age of Mythology.

Or a more ambient track, The Ballad of Ace Lebaron

Ratchet and Clank did have some good music. Theres a lot of great soundtracks out there, but lots are best heard ingame and only disappointing when separated.

An example would be Crash Bandicoot 3 or Resident Evil 2/3. Anyway Tomb Raider had some really great and suitable tracks. Brilliant game IMO.

I guess I don't have to mention Sonic music... well go on then.

Haha, reminds me of the song titles in Guilty Gear Isuka. "Cat attached to the Rust" and "Kill DOG as a sacrifice to DOG" to name a few #Tongue

From the absolutely most insanely difficult map in FPS history

Hell March has become iconic of the Red Alert series, but Trenches is the true best.

Thief - Deadly Shadows.

This particular mission gives me the creeps. The music also adds atmosphere into the abandoned asylum mission.

Another from ThiefDS. Eerie mansion + awesome music.

Hmm, let's see...

I have to post this, I would replay this game only for that song.

And also this:

Falling Down, last boss theme for Rockman Zero 4

Ingame version.

Remastered version.
http://www.rockmanpm.com/i/flash/Set2.swf
Looping flash version

This song is awesome, so fitting for the intense end of the Zero series. Though it's my favourite from the series, most of the other songs are good too.

Also I second Mig Eater's comment on Plants vs Zombies, and nostalgia'd hard after seeing Raptor.

As much as I love Hell March, this is the original song of Red Alert that I heard. Thus, for me, it defines how I see Red Alert.

You bring out your System Shock, and I give you Deus Ex.

And then suddenly Sweet Tooth. OH GOD.

and so many more... I'm just spurting out the first couple of tracks that came to mind.
I was also gonna say trenches but that was already taken.

And Duke Nukem 3D?! now that brings back memories!

Favorite Sonic Track:

Best Opening Theme Ever:

Track that began it all: Opening to FF8 Demo. A great piece of music that didn't even make it into the final version of the game.

Most others I could list have already been mentioned. Bigfoot and Crush are my favorites from RA1, and that track from Raptor: Call of the Shadows brings back memories. That was definitely the best vertical scrolling shooter ever made...with only one rival for that honored position:

Here are a few more greatest tracks. I thoroughly enjoy the tracks from C&C, but I figure that there are a few other games with noteworthy audio:

First, from Sonic & Knuckles, Flying Battery Zone Act 1:

Next, from Super Metroid, Lower Norfair (the Metroid Metal version):

After that, from Atomic Bomberman, Coal Mine arena:

Another from Atomic Bomberman, Ancient Egypt:
