Farewell, Lion!
Subject description: Thumbs up for Lion! Good luck on future endeavours!
Lion, one of the longest standing (and the oldest) webmaster from the C&C community, has posted his farewell message at his sites, CNCDEN and RADEN. Here's what he says:

After more than a decade of being a part of the Command & Conquer community and webmastering the DEN websites, I have decided to hang up my webmaster title. I don't have a big speech planned, other than to say I've had a super great time over the years. There have been some ups and downs in the C&C community, but for the most part, all has been good.
I want to say thank you to all who have visited and supported the DEN websites. I've had much help from C&C fans over the years. Thanks to Westwood Studios and now Electronic Arts for the C&C games. I've enjoyed playing them. Goodbye and best wishes to all.
I'm sad to see he leaving, although I've seen many people who left and returned after some time. Lion was a good reference for the C&C community and he made an outstanding work with both DEN sites and forums. At PPM, we wish him the best. QUICK_EDIT
LOL, soooo much time, before PPM, i was always in RADEN, good times learning maps and seeing mods lol, i still remember when i've seen TAKTICS (i think it was that) on the news and i was llike: OMFG
CnCDEN was the first site I went to when wanting to learn how to map in Generals because it has such a great tutorial there that explains the things. I hope the DEN stays alive at least, so others can go to it and see it's great resources, even if a good amount of the maps aren't that great, it's a great refrence site. QUICK_EDIT
Well it's been much more than a decade since the first real C&C came out, so I'm at least glad that a lot of people still remains on the old games, and some new ones come for the latest games. QUICK_EDIT

This is quite a shock, I must admit. I suppose Lion would have left the community eventually but he's been around since before I joined the community. And that was about ten years ago, now I feel old.
Anyway, I wish Lion well for whatever he's up to now, even though I really only used to visit for Mooman's mods and not much else. _________________

I feel you, this is a rather historical moment for me. Life goes on and the community goes on. QUICK_EDIT
I used to visit CNCDEN and RADEN during the RA2, Renegade, Generals days and slighly during C&C3.
Does this mean RADEN & CNCDEN will close?
I had a look in the Den, I think what it most likely means is that someone will simply replace him. Someone from the current Den staff is a logical candidate. I don't think it well be the same though, it feels kinda like someone taking over your Blog. QUICK_EDIT
Woah, I go to CNCDEN quite a bit, it's sad news to hear him go...hopefully he'll popup every once in a while so we know how he's doing. Reality is hard. _________________ Please, read the signature rules of the forum. QUICK_EDIT
Wow, it has been a long time. I'll miss him. I started out with my brother on CanisRules' C-Gen community around '01 and both CNCDEN and RADEN were what tied us all together with the larger community. I was sad to see Canis go about two years ago, and though I fell out after I went full on with college, I'd still pop in here and there time and again. At least the site won't vanish. There are still a lot of resources out there, and again, his sites tied them up nice and tidy for most people to find without the distraction machine that is Google. QUICK_EDIT
