O.K. I have a couple more things/questions I need help with. Believe me I have been going back and forth with this thing for over a week and cant seem to figure it out. now As I mentioned earlier I did manage to get a new [Side} working, however the AI refuses to build. It deploys it's VMCV, throws up a few defense structures, then builds a YuriClone building to which I have no idea why thats happening. Venom does have a clone building but it requires Prerequisite=VCNST,VWEAP,VTECH inorder to be built, yet they are throwing it up without such buildings. But my biggest concern is them not building VPOWR or VENOMBARR "barracks". VPOWR is listed as thier powerplant under the countires statistics as Ares depicts it to be as well as listed in [AI] and prerequisitesbuild.

[Countries]
AI.PowerPlants=VPOWR

[AI]
BuildPower=NAPOWR,GAPOWR,YAPOWR,VPOWR

PrerequisitePower=GAPOWR,NAPOWR,NANRCT,YAPOWR,VPOWR

and as for the Barracks, a tag i'm concerned about are these that I see are listed on each of the other countries barracks. So do I just delete this tag? or put VenomBarracks=yes?, or Barracks=yes? I'm confused Confused

GDIBarracks=yes
NODBarracks=yes
YuriBarracks=yes

and this tag AIBasePlanningSide= would represent the number of my Venom side, correct? So if say Venom is #6 in list I put AIBasePlanningSide=6 correct?

Sorry guys I just cant get this new side functioning correctly, If I could I wouldnt be bugging you about it.

no, it's a new side, so allied=0, soviet=1, yuri=2 and so on. unless you've made 4 new sides, Venom being the fourth, then that will be wrong.

yes, but the list is as follows

GDI=
NOD=
ThirdSide=
Neutral=
Special=
Venom=

So that would make Venom=6 right? I know some say the list begins with 0, but looking at the AIMD.ini All=0,GDI=1,NOD=2,and ThirdSide=3.

Uhh, there is no AIBasePlanningSide for "all". If you just read the comment in the rules file it says 0 = good, 1 = evil (then 3 = yuri).

I was refering to the AIMD,on the triggers, theres a number that represents what [side] it is like, 0,0,1,0 all=0,allied=1,Soviets=2,Yuri=3

So but yeah, I understand the AIBasePLanningSide=. Venom is #6 in the [SIDES] list so that would make them AIBasePLanningSide=5, I'm still confused about the aimd thing though.

Here's an except I recieve if someone can figure it out. Everything works fine if I control it, but as soon as I give control to the AI, shit hits the roof!

I don't know if this helps:
It looks like there is a list of buildings the AI will build. Item number 4 in that list is invalid. This might have something to do with the generic prerequitistes or base defenses for that side.

I don't know if "all" works in Red Alert 2, and subsequently, Yuri's Revenge. Deezire says that's what it does but take his information with a huge grain of salt. However, being that this list is 1-based rather than zero-based, you'll have to use 6 there.

ok it's come down to this, For some reason what ever has the prerequisite=VENOMBARR "barracks" wasnt getting built. So after removing said prereq I now have a hell of an AI except that they wont make any infantry, They build thier vehicles like crazy, so no problems there. So this leads me to believe what I had mentioned earlier about the other countries Barracks having the tags GDIBarracks=yes, NODBarracks=yes, and YURIBarracks=yes. So now with my new side having its own Barracks I cant use any of those tags which I believe is whats holding up the AI from making Infantry and also allowing it to use the prerequisite=VENOMBARR. I believe this wasnt taken into consideration with ares and making new sides, But I need this clarified before I bring this matter to DCoder or Renegade.

GDIBarracks, NODBarracks and YuriBarracks only influence where infantry will appear when trained. It has nothing to do with anything else. So lacking that is not a problem.

Did you add it to BuildBarracks= and PrerequisiteBarracks=? Has the building AIBuildThis=yes?

@HTX, crap I was hoping that maybe the issue, well then I dont know what the problem is then. The AI builds all thier buildings, even the Barracks, but no infantry, Tanks galor!, but no infantry.

@AlexB, yes to all 3

*Edit* Well, since all problems pointed towards the Barracks I had a hunch maybe the .shp file was corrupted or incorrect. My hunch was right. I remade the Venom Barracks all over and wouldnt you know it, Venom AI has complete functionality now. My new Side is now complete and very angry I might say. I havent beat them yet, but only tried 3 times and I'm a very good player.

But anyway thanks to everyone for putting up with me on this subject, problem is now resolved, Thank you!
