3ds Max Building.
Subject description: My first. I think I'm in love...yes, with a building.
I am very happy. Yes I know you will all look at it and tilt your head as if to say "that's nothing to be excited about"... BUT! I spent hours modifying the TS_TOOLSET script by Flyby to get it to work just the way I want it and now i have got my first 3ds Building in Tiberian Sun...err....Tiberian Incarnation.
Also, I'm aware of the two dots on the front and the flag, those are the animations from the gtpile, leftovers, something i've already taken care of.
And no, there will be no remap because I love making civilian buildings and civilians don't have remap. Although I do need some help with Materials & Textures.
And one more thing, would it be completely legal for me to attach the modified version of Flyby's script. For others to use? _________________

Why yes I do. I still dont know how to do good (or even okay) texturing.
I'm still perfecting the TiberianSun_Tools.ms script. Below is another picture showing the basic texturing that I know how to do. _________________

Not to bad of a start, I would take a look at some modeling tuts to get a better idea of how things work in 3dsMax, but glad to see we have another future 3d modeler
As for FlyBy's script, in all actuality, your supposed to get permission before even altering the script. But as long as it's proven to work better than the original I dont think FlyBy would have a problem, though I would still seek permission if you can locate him. QUICK_EDIT

Sorry to bump this topic, but today, I have been warned that lawyers from Spain, acting in the name of AutoDesk, issued a DMCA complaint to Google to remove this topic from their search results.

I have no formal means to respond to this accusation, so I will use this topic as a way to reply to it. Hopefully, someone with compassion will take a look at it and have second thoughts about this senseless accusation.
This is an internet forum where people discuss how to modify the experience of games, with the consent of the copyright owners of these games [link1][link2], [link3]. This topic simply mentions "3ds Max" in its title. It has never distributed copyrighted work from AutoDesk over its existence, and it will not. PPM is not a place that allows or promotes piracy of any kind. It does not have any kind of keys or instructions to violate any software protection from any Autodesk software either.
The Flyby's script mentioned in the topic is a fan-made script for very old versions of 3ds Max and GMAX that transformed its polygonal models into volumetric models used by some games. You must own these Autodesk tools to use Flyby's script. There is nothing illegal about it, and it does not promote any kind of piracy either.

QUICK_EDIT
Its probably a bot/search algorithm that looks for key words and then automatically issues a DMCA. Cranium asking for "permission" jumps out as a possibility...
If it's just this thread/url specifically that is being blocked then its no big loss, just hope that it doesn't go any further. _________________

It is shocking to see this kind of process purely in the hands of AIs. AI should assist people to make decisions, but not make decisions purely by themselves. Otherwise, we will see this kind of aberrations happening very often. QUICK_EDIT
This happens on Youtube and elsewhere all the time, automated copyright strikes, often by companies who don't even own the rights.
True, but youtube has an easily abusable system with revenue on the line, what do you get from striking a forum thread asking how to make shit? _________________ MIdAS - Turning wages into beer since 2002 QUICK_EDIT
