I just recently downloaded the freeware version because no one around has teh game or fist decade even, I even downloaded the installer that was linked in one of the threads here, but it keeps mentioning some sort of missing dll file every time I try and run it, any one have the same problem and or a solution?

Post info of which .dll s are missing (screenshot the error) or such.
It always helps to be more specific.

The error doesnt specifically say wich dll all it says is "can not start program, some dlls maybe missing, please reinstall"

Check your Diectory to see which of these is missing.

BlowFish.dll
clcd16.dll
clcd32.dll
dplayerx.dll
drvmgt.dll
language.dll
patchw32.dll

Not sure, but the game might be looking for the .dll's inside the Westwood directory. If you have RA2 or YR installed, you should already have a Westwood folder. If not create one and c/p the sun folder into it and try that.

I dont have any other games installed on this pc, I thought maybe the dlls them selves may have been curropted but i donloaded the freeware from several differant sites includint the official site, so i dont understand what might be wrong with it.

Try a compatibility mode,or the administrator mode if you're on vista/seven.
On XP,You can start normal tiberian sun freeware from anywhere.
It may not be true if you want it to be playable multiplayer though.

This happened with the First Decade TS too, and someone said its to do with registering BLOWFISH.DLL, this only happens on Vista and 7 IIRC.

Uninstall and use Tore's installer and don't use admin mode and don't change the compatibility and it should work.
(well it did for me anyway)

More than likely this happens becuase Vista and 7 deny rights to BLOWFISH.DLL that GAME.EXE needs, so the game then kicks the error.
