It is time to expand our tiberium vision.
Subject description: PPM will support non C&C games.
Hello everyone! Command & Conquer 4 was released some months ago, the old community manager left, as well as many other veterans from EALA studio and the community manager that replaced EA APOC, Mr. 'Goodman', doesn't seem to be very active at all. I've seen him trying to organize few bits in the official forums, post a single news at CommandAndConquer.com and doing nothing that I'm aware of. But, that's my point of view of a fan who doesn't know him, never talked to him and he doesn't seem to be aware of my existence either. He has joined the studio less than a month ago, so, of course he needs some time to get things working on his side, specially when we know that APOC was doing a superhero job before he left and he couldn't handle everything on his own. But, there are a couple things I don't like about him. Unlike APOC, he doesn't seem to be careful when posting. Guess what, me neither.
As a Command & Conquer fan, I'm sad to see that EALA doesn't seem to have any plans whatsoever for the franchise anymore... or at least it doesn't seem to have any plans. Every activity regarding Command & Conquer has stopped or ceased to exist. No more Battle Cast Primetime, Motion Comics, patches for C&C4... not even posts from the community manager. The C&C community is in the hands of the modding community and it still has a lot of energy to spare.
Fortunately, there are other games besides Command & Conquer, specially Real Time Strategy games (my favourite genre, as some of you who visit PPM for a long time may have guessed). And, many moddable games as well (unlike C&C4).
As a traditional modding community, we'll try to keep things running on our side, but we are also going to cover other games, afterall, PPM needs to survive and nobody is expected to mod Tiberian Sun or any other C&C game forever. For this reason, we've created the Other Games Modding forum and we'll soon expand it with Starcraft 2 and Fallout 3 forums, which are the games that seem to be successfull in our community. And, depending on the demand, we may expand it with occasional discussions with the community (registered members only).
So, if you ever get bored of C&C, feel free to stay in the community and post your modding experience with other games HERE, even if you haven't registered in the forums and happy modding.
Good decision. While your opinion on EALA and the G-Man are harsh, you definitely drew the right consequences. Looking forward to seeing even more high-quality mods emerge from PPM! _________________ Off Duty. QUICK_EDIT
The C&C community is on it own again.
For some reason i'm still expecting a Gens game, but i think we are on our own for the next couple of years, again.

PPM needs more global moderator too...
I'll see what I can do. I'll look for people who act maturely and doesn't spam the boards.

Yes, they are a bit harsh. At least I've warned that I'm not careful with my words . Anyway, I did not like some posts of G-Man provoking or being sorta cynic with people who weren't behaving well, like when he calls someone drama queen. I think he doesn't need to lower his level to deal with this kind of people. He doesn't care as much for spelling as APOC did.
Regarding EALA, perhaps they have plans for C&C. The Jon Von something, that I can't be bothered to spell, has said that they'd go with this online only (MMO) direction. For modders, it means that newer games will simply not be moddable at all. If you are lucky, you can modify the interface, if it is that relevant at all.

Aye, good on the expansion (even though I had some second thoughts first) Banshee. I can fill in as FO3 moderator if you want.
If FO3's forum demands a moderator, you'll be the first one to be called.

The cow has been milked!
I had the impression that they'd revisit the Generals universe in the next game, due to the way APOC started to treat the first generals as a legitimate C&C game in some of his posts (while in a couple of years ago he had a different opinion), but since APOC left, I don't know anymore. Whatever it is, it might go to the online only direction, which might not be interesting for me. QUICK_EDIT
Yeah, this place does need new, active global mods. Look forward to see how this place will change in the next couple of months, with finally this tide of change in a good direction (new mods and new games). QUICK_EDIT
That is welcome information. I´m actually looking forward to mod these games after Tiberium Essence so its good to know ppm will support them in future. QUICK_EDIT
