Subject description: Fixing Westwood's quite confusing system for the side/country

This is a small tutorial aimed to give ThirdSide and Yuri their appropriate, Ares-powered side/country coding.

SurvivorDivisor=750 ;this is what the sell cost is divided by to yield survivors
AI.BaseDefenses=YAGGUN,YAPSYT,NATBNK ;these are his base defense structures
AI.BaseDefenseCounts=25,22,6 ;this is the base defense formula used to calculate how many defenses the AI will build based on base size.
LoadScreenText.Color=0,235,255  ;this is his regular red loading screen color.
ParaDrop.Types=INIT ;the infantry the paradrop will bring in. This supports vehicles, but in regular YR he only gets infantry
ParaDrop.Num=6  ;this is the number of the infantry paradropping in.
Sidebar.MixFileIndex=2  ; this is used to tell the game to load up the soviet mix file
Sidebar.YuriFileNames=yes  ;this tells the game to use the special .mix files
;EVA.Tag= currently commented out due to non-functionality. You have to find this on your own.

MenuText.Status=STT:playersideyuricountry  ;this is the text on the bottom of the skirmish screen, seen when selecting a country
AI.PowerPlant=YAPOWR ;this is the building the AI will use to construct additional powerplants.
RandomSelectionWeight=1  ;this is the weight the country has when chosen in the random country option. It can be any value, with 0 turning it off from being chosen.

If you want a new sidebar, you have to use Sidebar.MixFileIndex=3, rather than 2. You won't need Sidebar.YuriFileNames if you have a new sidebar.

That's a given, but you can simply append it to the end of the list. I didn't move GDI, Nod, Neutral or Special around at all. I just threw it at the end with no errors. #Tongue

Well, GDI and Nod are in the countries list. I don't know how important it is to list it there.

They still count as nations so it's a good idea to add them to the list, as they are already.

There is both a side & a country called GDI/NOD

ThirdSide is the side tho & YuriCountry is the country, just as the Neutral country is part of the Civilian side.

So by using your logic you should also add Civilian & Mutant to the country list as well...

Hey m7 thanks for tutorial. But I somewhat had a problem with "LoadScreenText.Color=". Doesn't seem to work for me... Every time i change the color to purple it keep showing the loadtext color red.. Am I missing something?

All I get is "Unable to read scenario." with Yuri. On Alamo.

EDIT: Add ThirdSide like GDI & Nod, same basic tags with the added extras, and added ThirdSide as number 14 in the country list.

Sorry for bumping this, but i got this same error when I play with yuri:

"Unable to read scenario."

PS: The Code is the same, but i changed Sidebar.MixFileIndex=2 to Sidebar.MixFileIndex=3, and i have a file "Sidec03"

I really need this for my mod Sad
