Does (11 Destroyed, All... "Triggers when all objects owned by the specified house have been destroyed. This is the normal (destroy everyone) trigger condition for end of game.") not work? Is it single player only?

Trying to setup a trigger that fires when a player is destroyed, that automatically disables other triggers related to them on map, but every time I put it in, it declares them as dead right away despite not actually being dead.

And if it doesn't work, does anyone have a possible idea for a workaround?

Map file can be provided if requested.

Oh yeah on an unrelated note for discussion, why do people online demand you turn the gamespeed up to 6>!?

I tried to explain this, "note the game was written to run at 15 fps"

Slowest = 10 FPS
Slower = 12 FPS
Slow = 15 FPS
Normal = 20 FPS
Fast = 30 FPS
Faster = 60 FPS
Fastest = unlimited FPS

I was saying I liked to play at 30 FPS, they told me it was too slow. I tried by starting the game at 5 speed, but apparently that wasn't fast enough for him either because, once in game, he turned the speed up so we were playing at around 200 fps on a survival game, needless to say we got decimated.

"Now i think some people just assume survivals will be easy and lag, and hence why they turn up the speed, or perhaps the guys plays a lot of quick matches and is used to the speed, but on a micro-management survival map, your dead fast."

Also he goes and messes with the connection speed. I'd set it back, but try explaining to him that setting a faster connection speed can cause recons when players games go out of sync. The people playing nowadays don't seem to remember the days of dial-up and single cpu computers. I remember when i thought 30 fps was blazingly fast!

"The survival maps are geared toward making many decisions as best you can, as fast as you can, and if you have less time to do it, your ability to play suffers."

Well this wouldn't be so bad on a lot of survivals i see out there. The normal survivals usually lag, don't require a lot of micro by players, and usually provide you with too much cash and are easy.

But here comes the problem, what if the survival is made not too lag and can be played at 200 fps, what if its made by someone who always plays at slower speeds and then basses the difficulty so that he cannot even win the map himself. Then add that the map is very random and requires more micro then normal and cash is tight.

Of course the xwis community is small, and if you try to explain this to anyone there, they will just say shut-up and start the game or I will leave.... And so your choice is not playing or trying to play at a speed were micro is impossible unless your clicky-wonder, who is cable at clicking so fast your mouse catches on fire.....

So what are people's thoughts on gamespeed?

Well...about the trigger...i think it can work....try making the trigger to happen like...5 seconds after the game begins...maybie in the begin, the game needs an sec or 2 to separate the houses(?)

If that doesn't work...then only Aro will save you. #Tongue

EDIT: Never played in xwis....soo i'm not sure...ussually i like to play at speed 5 or 6 but its kinda fast the 6 XP....and when i played with my friend in hamachi....i don't think i had any speed problems....soo really 4,5 or 6 at max. >_<

I already tried that before posting"aka having it switch on a few seconds after start", I swear it had been working before"I think", is it possible a trigger can become corrupted? Maybe i should try redoing the triggers?

As for gamespeeds

Slowest = 10 FPS Speed 0 in game.
Slower = 12 FPS Speed 1 in game.
Slow = 15 FPS Speed 2 in game.
Normal = 20 FPS Speed 3 in game.
Fast = 30 FPS Speed 4 in game. "My preferred speed."
Faster = 60 FPS Speed 5 in game. "My compromise speed."
Fastest = unlimited FPS Speed 6 in game.

Well, i think you should renone the triggers, one time i added an "intro" (not movie...but like something happening before you get control in the map) and i got IE's!!! The reason? Placing in one trigger actions the text before others like reinforces and etc.... >_< Believe or not...it happens, soo yeah, it could be that..but not sure... Confused

your problem is most likely do to the fact that when the game starts, "MultiPlayer" there are no buildings present yet. only an MCV, so the trigger thinks the player has lost all buildings. Try putting a longer timer so the player-"human or comp" has time to make thier buildings. Try something like 400 or higher to give enough time to build.

Err, exactly how are you specifying the house for a multiplayer trigger? AFAIK Player@X doesn't work for any events, only actions...

I'll just provide the map. Attached.

As for the trigger, it occurs after a player already has a building, not that it should matter, because the trigger should only go off if all units and buildings a player controls dies.

"AFAIK Player@X doesn't work for any events, only actions..."
Are your sure about that, must of the time events are worded differntly.

Example:

"Triggers when all objects owned by the specified house"

vs.

"Triggers when the building (owned by the house of this trigger) specified"

For most events it says the owned by the house of the trigger, whilst this trigger specifically says owned by the specified house.

Oh yeah, on another note, I did some research, and does anyone know where I can find a Frame Rate locking program or know how to lock a game frame rate?

This would make it so even if a player turns the speed bar to a higher rate the game would lock itself at a lower rate. He would just think its lagging and i'd not have to argue an fight with him over fps gamespeed rate.

Note I don't play on Quick matches and have no intention of playing qm nor using such a program on a qm. However if this constitutes cheating or altering the game in anyway that would disagree with westwoods eula then never-mind i asked.

I know video cards can be set to use vsync or something and lock the game to your refresh rate, but I'm not sure how to do that"At least not in wondows 7 ultimate 64 bit.", and my screen refresh rate only can go between 60 and 90...
