I actually knew about this a while back. Nice models but yeah, I dislike the monthly fees and the whole "World in conflict" style gameplay setting as I understand it? QUICK_EDIT
I don't dislike the RTT style per se, with its control points and stuff like that. In fact I'd say WiC is pretty ok with me, only that I think it has too many units (light, medium, heavy versions of every unit type). C&C 4 suffered from the same issue of too many units, which I also disliked.
Being able to build bases is fine, but I wouldn't mind base building taking a step back (not to say entirely eliminated though, WiC would've been nicer if engineers could set up field fortifications and stuff). _________________

Field fortifications wouldn't work in WiC because of tactical aid.
It only costs 15 TA points to call in precision artillery, which will guaranteed destroy anything in the target area. Heavy Arty at 12 would do the job just fine too. _________________ YR modder/artist, DOOM mapper, aka evanb90

And in games like C&C, you could call in an air strike to take out a defence structure too. Given proper balancing in WiC, I think it'd be very possible for field fortifications to be replaceable faster than the enemy can regain the TA points to strike the rebuilt fortifications. Plus there's still units moving around too, and those could command a higher priority target for an artillery strike. _________________

The game looks alright but there is nnothing which strikes me as unique or new other than there arent many MMO RTS/RTT games out there.
I agree with Pepzi about the pay-ing for online however i dont think there is anything wrong with the game being compariable to WiC, however i wish they would do something different and original with in the genre. _________________ Creator of TS:BoB and some other things that might be good when finnished. Not a very good comparison.
1: In CnC, the defender can see the planes coming.
2: In CnC, the defender can shoot down the planes, extremely easily for that matter. CnC AA scores more hits on aircraft in one skirmish than real AA weapons of all kinds have hit since the first biplanes.
3: CnC airstrikes are _weak_.
Conversely
1: In WiC, you can only assume that camping the same spot (IE field fortifications) will get your ass bombed to the stone-age.
2: In WiC, planes cannot be shot-down by anything you can command.
3: In WiC, even the weakest air-strike (~6 TA) will flatten a cluster of tanks
It's not a matter of balance, it's that WiC is a game of constant motion. Stationary defenses just won't work. By the time you're set up, somebody on that 5 player team has a TA strike aimed at you or the battle has shifted to another control point.
Even assuming you set up successfully, you aren't exactly helping your team. You AREN'T going to hold your position for long. It's not going to slow the enemy down too much. The reinforcement points wasted could have been diverted to additional rifle/AT squads, which could have been doing something useful- IE flanking their artillery/support units and taking unguarded rear positions. _________________ YR modder/artist, DOOM mapper, aka evanb90

Never said anything about camping in the same spot. Was never my intention for you to have to put your units around a field fortification. They're obstacles, not an excuse to turtle
Also I kind of imagined a field fortification as something being set up by a unit (via an ability), not something purchased with reinforcement points. The amount of points each player gets is already small enough as it is. _________________

I imagined it the same way- engineers going in and building it.
Regardless, the point is that they wouldn't do anything except drag away from your reinforcement points. (as I don't see this being assigned to basic/AT infantry squads) _________________ YR modder/artist, DOOM mapper, aka evanb90
