Hey all, I never liked the cartoony look of the IFV's repair arm.
So I decided to make a new one.

I modeled it after one of these:

A spot welder.

In game images.

It was something quick for the fun of it. I just thought it might look a little better than the existing one.

Anyway, you know the drill.

I like it.
Maybe if you extend the Pterodactyl's nose 5 voxels, it'd be a little better, but good anyways Smile

HAHAHAHAHA...

It wasn't intentional, I assure you.

Like, stretch out the whole front half of the arm by about 5? Alright, but I'll do it in the morning.

I was thinking more of a flamingo, and I found the "wild" version of this unit:

I was looking for a flamingo with his mouth open for better comparison, but I didn't find it,so I took this picture, much less serious.

Well, back to the picture, yeah it really look like a bird heard, maybe it's not cylindric enough

Alright, I stretched out the "beak" by 5 units.

Also, I have no room left in my Flickr at this point...

Btw, does the the yellow and light gray beam on the back look enough like a hydraulic ram?

Anyway, tear into it once again!

I really like it. It makes more sense than a giant wrench or claw

Personally, it would look better if the lower half of the arm wasn't remap.

What color would you make it, HK?

I might recolor it for ya, if ya like.

If it were me, maybe the same color as the body of the IFV itself. (The lighter of the two colors.) But I'd leave the top half of the arm remapped.

Also, no need in changing your own creations for the sake of someone else and their preference, unless you, yourself, believe the suggestion to be an overall improvement.

In short: If you really want, you can. #Tongue

[EDIT] Forgot to say, this is actually an outstanding improvement compared to the original. It was just.. odd-looking.

Well, sorta. Feedback always helps me fix things that people find fault with. I honestly don't mind criticism for stuff like this.

Glad you thing so too!

Okey, I think its ready for prime time, wouldn't you agree?
I wish this could go into the Voxels area now.
