How do I chnage the color of units?

Subject description: Trying to change the color of the slaves pants from purple to...

I dont like the color of the brutes pants or the slaves pants. How do I change it to black? I have OS BUilder 3.36 and looked at the help and it said to use color schemes but I dont see a tab for color schemes and also i tried looking through xcc mixer to find the shp for the slaves and brutes but i couldnt find them either. can anyone help?

well the .shps are located in the conqmd.mix, but the "pants" are remappable, so thier colors should represent whatever color you pick to use in gameplay.
As for the .shpBuilder, you need to have a file open in order to see the CustomScheme option tab if you want them to have just Black pants.

ok thanks that worked, but omg, do i really have to color all the different angles of my unit for it to work? im looking at the slave and theres +500 slides id have to color, is there an easier way?

yeah, just use the ReplaceColor option, it will replace the colors in all frames

ok that worked and i was able to change the pants colors, thanks. will you tell me where the maps are located in xcc mixer? i want to take the ground zero map and change it from temperate to night time snow, is it possible? like just extract it where ever its at, open the map with final alert and change the option to snow should work right?

This download contains all maps from RA2/Yuri disk, not TFD but the maps are the same. I took all maps from the mix files, some might be the same, but I think the map you are looking for is SOV03.


What I do is make 2 copies of the same map. Give 1 a name like GZ. and the other GZ no house.

Open GZ map in word pad and find:
Theater=

and change to what ever theater you want and save it.

Then open the the GZ house and do the same. Then open GZ no house map in word pad and look for:

[Structures]

and delete all structures under this and save it . Open GZ no house in FA2 and edit the map. The thing is when you open the map in the editor the map will look screwed up as far the ground is concerned and there will be no buildings on this map.

Once you edit the map terrain, save the map. Then open up both maps in word pad. In the GZ map look for [Structures] and copy [Structures] and all buildings under this, then paste this to the GZ no house map and save it. The buildings will be in the same place as on the original map.

I found the map and did the conversion but it gave me an error, o well, good idea though. appearnatly the game couldnt pick up on a forbidden tile.

I am not sure of any differences. I visit 4 or 5 sites and some one on one of those sites said that the regular Yuri's Revenge disc (Yellow Disc) not TFD released before 9/11 had a map that was changed in TFD. Maybe there is someone out there that can verify the mission maps had any kind of change from the YR disc to TFD.

You were trying to make the map a snow map? Post it up and lets see what you have and maybe get some help.

ive already deleted the map SHP and alexb said basically any of the tiles couldve been corrupted to the point that the game couldnt read the map, its ok anyways, i basically have my mod completely done almost.

if the tiles were created by you or 3rd party they could have been corrupted, but they were salvageable and not really corrupted. Though many will say they are corrupt sometimes they are not. I know first hand on that. I have received a few ie errors and was told that they were corrupted but I found they aren't just some kind of glitch. If you get an IE again post it up and I don't how to read the IE but I can check it against IE txt I have saved. And maybe someone could give some insite on the problem.

yeah i did that, i sent the debug report to alexb and he saw the tiles were corrupted. but perhaps you can give me some insight to my other question about the chaos gas on a missile.

that i can't...... i don'r have any knowledge of that, but if you go to renegade forums maybe DCoder could help you. But like i said the except checker and the ares debug both came back with a corrupt tiles but from what I have seen from my work there is a good chance they are not
