RA2/YR on weird monitors....

Hey guys. I'm reduced to a netbook (I have been for some time now.). My resolution is...

1024x600.

Yes, its ztyping goofy. However this poses an issue. RA2 wil install, but I can't get it to run properly. Instead, its in this wonky letterbox looking stuff where I can barely see my base. So, I tried what worked for TS... Sun.ini. Instead, RA2.ini. I set the W/H values to correspond to my monitor, and RA2 simply crashes. YR will not install on this screen at all.

I've gone like... a year, without Red Alert 2. Can anybody do, or know, something that can get Yuri's Revenge to run right on this thing? I miss desolators, christ. I miss the ztyping Terror Drones. TERROR DRONES.

your notebook dont have other screen resolutions? I've never seen a comp only have one screen size setting. Check your Properties and see what other screen resolutions it offers.

Set the resolution to 800x600 or force the game to run in 640x480. That should do it. It might be stretched though, but it should at least work.

My laptop only has one screen resolution setting.

But I want it on full screen, it'll do the exact opposite in that setting. It'll give me a tiny as hell game screen and i'll be so zoomed in that the flak tracks or something take up most my screen.

Are there -any- alternatives? EXE hack? Something?

You may not have much of a choice with a non-standard resolution.

Window it. That's the best you can do. set your YR screen res to 800x600. Use this command line (see attached). Mine's TI, but it's the same concept.

Alright. I'll try windowed mode.

One more thing, YR would not -install- even on this monitor res, is there a way to install it but bypass the setup/installer?

Have you even tried using the in-game options to set the game's resolution?

In-game has a whopping three resolutions last I checked.

I'm spoiled, I have atleast 900 pixels on my shortest side on all 3 of my current computers.

Actually, my old Toshiba Satellite from like 2003, which is the main machine I play RA2/YR on has a special mode that lets you select weather or not to stretch what's on screen.
