Translating random Russian Song(s)
Vizbor's "Wooden Plane" has been in my head for some time now. So I tried translating it. I think you can still sing it, if you time it right. Obviously I take no credit, beside translation.
Quote:
The sky, always calls upon us
And to defend itself, it calls
And here it goes - if only wooden
But actually, a military plane
From bullets it is not protected
Nor was it built for long time's sake
Its pilot - is just a young boy
But really, he's a military man
May flight be very, tough job
And danger's creeping closer, let it be
The life - is flight of most importance
And one must find the right path, through it
Fly pilot, evading deaths
Evading black smoke of firefights
As those five stamps upon the letter
Are flight path of your destiny
And youth, flies proudly above
The dark crevice of the war
And heroism knows no timing
Before it, all ages are the same
And in the sealed, envelope
The letter into immortality, he brings
Through fire of the iron death
That little, wooden plane
May flight, be very, tough job
And danger's creeping closer, let it be
The life - is flight of most importance
And one must find the right path, through it
Fly pilot, evading deaths
Evading black smoke of firefights
As those five stamps upon the letter
Are flight path of your destiny
