Zombie game with the ability to build bases?

Is their a zombie killing game where you can build a base and defend yourself. I have looked a bit on the google but came across nothing but FPS's and RPG's. I want to play one where the graphics are good like CnC RA2 and up along with many construction options like most CNC games.

They where/are but I actually want a game that isn't just another mod. I am looking for a game that I can mod and release mods and such.

there are some tower defense zombie games, Plants vs Zombies comes to mind even though that's not an actual "base"

Not exactly a bad idea for a game, but what usually comes to this is a Tower-Defense type of game, but yeah, an RTS/RTT-esque Zombie slaying game would be a nice add #Tongue

I played plants vs Zombies and I thought it was boring and dull. I am looking for Command and Conquer style.

Now one has made EXACTLY the game you speak of, but theres things which fit the descriptions of RTS with zombies. Plants vs Zombies for example. There's also a level in SC2 where infested humans which are pretty much zombies repeatedly attack your base in large waves during the night.

hmm... I found a mod (dead though) on mod db for cnc generals that fits you're description well... It's a shame the mod died :O

There's a flash game wich gives you that ability called Shattered Colony.
As a flash game it doesn't offer you that much abilities but it certainly isn't bad.
