This is my first attempt at creating a new explosion anim, I'm not happy with the shock wave at the base (too thick & dark) & will probably redo it at some point. Seeing as it took a whole day to make tho I'm in no rush to fix it >.>

The gif is FUBAR BTW, looks better ingame!

I'm not to fond of the colors, but the anim itself looks pretty good. With a bit of tweaking, this could be one great nuke anim.

The colors are actually extremely good. A nice selection that fits RA2 for the most part (except in RA2, smoke is a light gray, in this, smoke is mostly a dark grey).

Animation is a bit too smooth for RA2 (well, compare it to the classic nuke), but well done nonetheless.

Shockwave should animate much faster tho, imo.

That's a pretty good start Mig Eater. Though it should have more inner movements in the clouds.
As Blueguard mentioned, the shockwave should be in front of the mushroom cloud column.
The timing of the different parts could be also a tad better: e.g. the shockwave should move much faster.

I know the RA2 anim.pal is complete crap, but the colors could be better to look more like fire. It could also turn faster from the bright white in the beginning to yellow fire when the mushroom cloud ascends.


btw, i've made/attached a gif with correct colors.

LKO's looks better but the shockwave colors facing main boom edges look off, i would really go with custom pal and then everyone can "reduce" the quality to wanted palette as see fit.

Yeah custom.pal would give this nuke anim justice.

Unsupported NP supports custom.pal for animations

Ares DLL currently supports custom.pal for cameos so its only a matter of time.

Actually it supports custom.pal for everything but terrain and animations. :p
