The following link is to a topic that I created.

http://www.ppmsite.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=410937#410937

The purpose of this thread is to get some ideas of roads people would like to see.

In my thread I was going with a 2 lane road with yellow broken line, but opinions have been posted. You can post up some pics or email me pics of roads you would like to see for ra2/yuri. I know what I want, but what would the community want.

New 4 lanes are in the works.

How about a street with brown leaves (Spring season)?

Are you going to release the 4 lane road?

Once I am done I will have

2 lane roads (already posted pics of start)
2 lane road junctions (already posted pics of start)
2 lane road new angles
2 lane new angle bends (already posted pics of start)
4 lane roads
4 lane road new angles
4 lane new angle bends
4 lane road junctions

New grass, concrete & dirt to go along with these pieces. Hopefully new slopes, and a couple of other tiles, plus the mentioned pieces in cobble stone.

I'll even release all templates I make that I used 3D max 2010 so others can make their own roads, as long as they work properly for others. Along with instructions, maybe a video.

Now the only problem with brown leaves on the road it would lack detail. It would be more or less brown spots on the road, though might be something interesting to look into.

If you are making new grass & concrete then you have to pretty much redo the whole theatre to match. There are few tiles that don't link to them two in some way or another.

Yeah, I know. That's gonna be a some what of pain part. Once I get to that step I'll post up pics of what I have to get an opinion from people. Though the stuff I have now is moving along nicely. "Finished" pics of 4 parts prob next week for some more feedback

You shouldn't need to redo the concrete or grass or whatever, just render with a flat colour in those areas (pink maybe, but it doesn't really matter) and then in photoshop or equivalent make that colour transparent and place under it a layer with the original tiles.

Well, here is what I did. I made new roads using 3D Max. On page 2 you will see some what finished pieces. Things have changed since I textured those.

http://www.ppmsite.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=28639&postorder=asc&start=50

This is the process which I use.

Now the white is plain white, the asphalt is the color from the road just copied several times and pasted using PS C3, the yellow is copied and pasted color from the lines in the road. I made a tile 10 by 10 and made it straight grass and exported it to photoshop cs3 and saved it as a bmp image for the grass texture but the color changed a bit so instead of screwing around with it I just applied a different texture. Now IMO the grass is too bright from the original urban grass so that is why I decided to use something different. And there isn't any grass slopes so I would have to screw around with coloring anyway. And I don't really like the color of the concrete for urban anyway.

But thanks for the info, I might use your way along with this.
