1) People can and do change.
2) If I'd meet my former self online on a forum or a chatroom, I'd probably want to kill him as much as you want.
So please, can't we forget things that happened 6 years ago? I'm an entirely different person now.
By the way, I'm not into TS/RA2 modding anymore. It's just too much of a hassle in Wine (and the shp/vxl editors won't even start, so... tough luck). Yes, I'm using Linux. And yeah, most of it compiled by hand. With custom patches. Yes, that means I can program in C, C++, Java, PHP and quite a few others that escape me now.
Anyway, all I'd like to ask is that we forget old grudges, and move along, okay? _________________ I use a Unix-based system, that means I'll get laid as often as I have to reboot. QUICK_EDIT
I got TS to work under Wine using the tutorial over TibWeb ways - was quite laggy and there were some colour weirdness, so while I like opensource I've stuck with TS on XP.
I also got VXLSE3 to start under Wine. The problem was OpenGL, which refused to cooperate. No idea about SHP builder though. QUICK_EDIT

C/C++? In Linux? I never knew you can code C++ in Linux or Linux uses C++ language because I've heard Mac uses its own language (though not sure of it). I thought OSs use different user interface. Windows FTW.

What are you talking about? We were talking about the good ol' days when n00bs didn't exist yet in CnC Community. QUICK_EDIT
C/C++? In Linux? I never knew you can code C++ in Linux or Linux uses C++ language [...]
You are kidding me. Every OS can use C or C++. I mean, Qt and WxWidgeds are cross-platform graphics toolkits written in C++. C is, like, the greatest common divisor of languages. Every OS has a C compiler. Or it sucks. (note: inclusive or. OS can have C compiler and still suck.)

Mac (OS X) uses both Objective-C (Cocoa) and, to a lesser extent, C++ (Carbon) in their GUI programming. Carbon is now deprecated, however many applications still depend on it. Qt >=4.5 provides a C++ wrapper for Cocoa (next to Carbon).

Yes, what does that have to do with programming languages?

Windows FTW.
To repeat myself, you are kidding me. Honestly, if you'd even take the time of installing and setting up Linux or buying a Mac and not setting anything up (It Just Works™ is true), you'd defenestrate that Windows crap at once.
Remember: the best way to accelerate Windows is at 9.81 m/s^2.

Also, you can't play any C&C games on Mac or Linux. That's kind of an important reason to get Windows for us here...
Actually, TW, C&C4 and RA3 work fine. So do all games in TFD here. I believe that's all of them, then.
As I can see, it's a lost cause here. Wallow in your own filth as much as you want, I'm off to enjoy 5 second boots on a virus- and defragment-free environment. And that's the end of that discussion. _________________ I use a Unix-based system, that means I'll get laid as often as I have to reboot. QUICK_EDIT

I can finally say that I wholeheartedly agree with this statement. I must admit. I can't tell who I hate more - Macfags or Linuxfags. _________________ Discord: princess_marisa

Plus, I just enjoy windows cause i'm used to it. And my boot time is approximately 45 seconds, and Virus free? any animal with half a brain and a decent firewall can keep that from happening. _________________ "Reality is a lovely place, but I wouldn't want to live there." -Adam Young QUICK_EDIT
I have never had a single verified virus infection in the three years I have been running Windows on my personal computers; this includes my desktop and laptop, Windows XP and Windows 7. It's easy to not get an infection of any sort... as such, this is not a "pro" for any operating system. Ever. _________________ Discord: princess_marisa

Okay, to the mac users who say its so easy to get a virus on windows, how do I get a virus? The internet isn't a digital jungle anymore. The 'wild west' of the internet is gone. The only virus news you hear about much anymore is when a major virus wreaks havoc into the financial sector. Hell, when was the Conficker scare?
Years ago.
You idiots babbling about windows being so unsafe are living in the dark ages, acting like everybody goes bareback on the internet and has bonsi buddy installed. Christ
Edit: If it was as terrifying and unsecure as it is, please explain why Windows, which is such a risk to the naieve computer user, is the main operating system of so many multinational corporations, companies, and governments? Surely things like fiscal and international security would be at more of a risk than Bobby Joe downloading dickgirl porn. But they use windows, and windows seems to work fine. _________________ Victory! QUICK_EDIT
Some trolling is going on here.
Why do you troll? You may feel good about it but what will it earn you, if I may ask? Respect? Yeah right. Trolling has no use whatsoever and it can only get worse in arguments like the "your face" argument. Trolling-->Reported Post--->Warned--->Trolling Again--->Reported Post--->Warned Again--->and you get the idea. Eventually it leads to a BAN. Would you like that? No, no you wouldn't. So to some of you, grow up and stop starting pointless arguments. Get this in your head.
Windows is probably my favorite, to state my opinion. And to viruses, apparently the current version of ETS is a virus so I can't download it. (Not sure people still talk about ETS nowadays)
This was supposed to be a nostalgia topic. Well not everyone gets their way, I guess. I think it may be settled by now. Because SeySayux returned, he mentioned Linux which got people on about it sucking. (Or Mac) Alright, let's please get back on topic.[/i] QUICK_EDIT
PePsiCola, I think you just stirred up the hive.
Responding to your post, trolling is something kind of hard to get banned for anyways afaik. Is so its pretty much the tangent 'flaming' which does it. I'd post some worthless "To each his own" crap here as well, but this thread mutated, I think mods are coming, and theres a giant trollface 2 posts up. I don't want to end up like my avatar. People, please take the discussion elsewhere? _________________ I use a Unix-based system, that means I'll get laid as often as I have to reboot. QUICK_EDIT

soo, i dunno, we are talking about some "old games", many things like mods , maps, N/rockpatch, ares and all the support we do about the game, and this of course is the real reason the community is active, as much new games have died after some years... As long as we have some new flash blood and some old users, we are fine.
Anyways, i started in 2007 to make maps (really crappy ones), soo in 2008, i started to figure out some new tricks and all (YR and RA2), soo i tried to start modding, it was hard, and o started to see others rulesmd.ini to see how things works (it was still hard), then i joined PPM toannounce my mod and my "improved" maps, and soo i learned learned, and here i am making maps when i fell doing it and seeing how the PPM is doing.
