Hey guys, I've got the opportunity to go to New York in april and I'd like to know from you guys what kind of interesting things can be done there by a tourist. So far, I know a little about Broadway, Statue of Liberty, Times Square, Rockfeller Center, Central Park... what else? There are some fun museums... and the stores where I need to buy some electronic gadgets for ridiculous prices (when compared to their prices in Brazil). What else can you say? What are the coolest museums in New York? Any tips?

American Museum of Natural History or the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art are both good trips. AMNH might have a thing about native americans. I'm not sure about Metro, but if you like Egypt Metro isn't a disappointment. Dinosaurs in the AMNH of course.

Check out the ethnic enclaves for God's sakes for good food. Little Italy, Spanish Harlem, Brighton Beach, Chinatown, ecetera. Don't pass them up.

The Cyclone is probably open somehow.

It really all depends on which part of NewYork your going visit. Manhattan is probably the most visited city in the State. There you have the Apollo Theater, CentralParkZoo, NintendoWorldStore, SonyWonderTechnologyLab, The Rockefeller Center, TimesSquare, RadioCityMusicHall, EmpireStateBuilding, StatueOfLiberty, HudsonRiverPark, UnionSquare, NewYorkStockExchange, WorldTradeCenter "New" and Memorial for old", EllisIsland, The famous BrooklynBridge, and the list just goes on and on. And thats just Manhattan.

I might be in New York (state) in April, remarkably. Unfortunately, I'm quite far away from the city itself (I'm going here) and I might not get a chance to visit the city itself which is a shame since this'll be my first time outside of Europe.

I've been to the Manhattan area of New York once...but it was a school trip for the band...so naturally we were on a 'go here, then here and here oh and there' time schedule and didn't get to do several things i would have liked to have done. For example...we didn't even go through Central Park. I mean WTF!

provided we were only there for 2 days which is IMO entirely not enough time to truly experience a new place that large.
Here's what we did
BreakFast at Planet HollyWood, Tour of Radio City Music Hall, a Guided City Tour on our buses, Lincoln Center tour, Arrive at Liberty State Park / small tour of it (which is actually in New Jersey), Boarded the ferry and went to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty where as a band we performed., Tour Empire State building (which we were running behind and 90% of the dumb people in the group were all "OH NOOOO we won't get to shop at Macy's if we do this?!?!?! and then proceeded to whine until all but 5 of us left the Empire State building), Shopping at Macy*s, saw Wicked on Broadway.

So maybe an idea will pop into your head based on what i got to do. But again we hardly had anytime in the city really so you should be able to get to do a fair bit more. Anyways hope you have fun when/if you get to go.

Well, I'd suggest playing the first Allied mission in RA2 sitting next to the Statue of Liberty...

All jokes aside, look up the restaurants. I've heard there are some amazing places to eat, and I can vouch. There are.

Check out the Carnegie Deli whilst you are there. Also, I agree with the Metropolitan museum of Art & the Nintendo store.
